Anyone playin EQII? Particularly the new Fay expansion?

I decided to peep the free trial. (I dropped my original EQII subscription during the free month at launch. Didn't like the 'whack a mole' combat style nor feeling lost in these huge zones with little to no direction on where to go for the quests.)

Guess I should have gone and loaded EQII base code first, gonna be like 6+ hours by the time this trial thing finishes downloading...

Just curious if anyone is playin' EQII and has peeped the Fey.

Every now and then I hear mumbling about EQII. Doubt I'll actually drop the $40 for the expansion and all, but still, curious what peeps think. :)

I played the trial, and am anxiously awaiting the boxed game with all expansions as a Christmas gift from my wife (I'm pretty sure she got it for me :D ).

Generally speaking, I liked the game quite a bit. I more or less was just looking for something to fill up my time while I wait for the release of VG (in the hopes that it turns out to be great), but I found that I really enjoyed it. There are aspects of it that I think are a bit too WoW-ish, but there are other aspects that I thought were much improved upon from EQI. Plus, I really enjoyed the familiarity of it all -- my knowledge of places, geography, and even commands -- from EQI. I will definitely continue playing it, even possibly after VG is released - maybe I'll play both, I don't know.

Yes, the download is long, but you should check it out anyway. Very nice game. I can't compare it to the game pre-Fay though, because I, personally, never played it until now since my computer wasn't good enough (the build is running beautifully!).

I was turned off by EQ2 because of the system requirements at the time (although it looked really good otherwise). I had neither the money nor the desire to upgrade, so EQ2 just kind of passed me by.

Looking back, I wish I would have gotten into it so that I could be playing something now. SWG got killed off with the combat revamp stuff and WoW sucks, and thus I sit on my hands hoping that Vanguard will remedy my boredom. (I know, boo-hoo for me )

Hum, seems better than I recall it being at release, but that may just be because you now start with your class instead of going through a noob stage.

The quests were kinda vague though. Had a bit of trouble finding a couple.

I highly doubt I'll keep it past the free week. It's fun and all, but not knowing anyone or knowing where to go I can see the same things happening again as they did at launch. (My wandering around aimlessly not knowing where to go and being solo 95% of the time even though I'm LFG.)

I've been pl;aying EQ2 since launch and I love it. I wont be canceling when VG is released, but I may be playing both.

Rabb1t, if you decide to play it, I'm on the Unrest server, char name Zyphius. My guild, family, and friends will be more than happy to help ya out.

I played from beta to a year after launch. I liked it, but not so much for the game. I happened to meet very cool people my age (a bit older ;) ) and we had a blast together. Most if not all are going to leave EQ2 for Vanguard (or at least keep both active), so I'm stoked on that.

Of the ones that still play, plus the reviews it seems that it is a defining expansion for EQ2. Most say it is how the game should have shipped. Maybe there is hope for people that don't like VG too much right now :) :) :)
