For a tank who wants to raid some(but might never be the main tank) But likes to group a lot and do quests.

Will be warrior.

Thestran Human or Vulmane?

Open to other race suggestions too for pros vs cons

I did some rough number crunching and according to the new stat rules and amount u get and can spend a level here's what i figured out.

Thestran Human gets +1 to each stat a level, which would net +50 in each stat.

Thestran Human, after level 10 gets 14 Attribute pts a level, and can put up to 5 in 1 stat per level.

This is a pool of 560 pts to play with.

Assuming you spread them between Dex and Con evenly, STR and Vit would be up to you(I still dont know which I would rather do).

You get get +50STR, +200CON, +250DEX, +50 WIS, +50 INT, +50 VIT
(+210STR) ** If chosen.
Which leaves you with 160 pts remaining to spread between STR or VIT of your choice(I'd probably choose str.)

Vulmane gets +2 to STR, +2 to DEX, and +3 to WIS each level, and + 1 to CON, INT, and VIT. Netting +100STR, +100DEX, +150WIS, +50COn, +50INt, and +50VIT.

Vulmane get 10 Attribute points a level after 10 and can put 4 into a single stat a level.

This is a pool of 400 points to play with.

So assuming you spread it evenly between dex and con again You would get.

You get +100STR, +260DEX, +150WIS, +210CON, +50INT, +50VIT.
(+180STR) ** If you choose to allocate your points here

Conclusion: The stat variance isn't too bad, only about 10 pts. Is it really worth it to go Vulmane for the racial? Or is it just a fluff for a tank?(Warrior)

your numbers for Vulmane are silighty off and should be +170STR (allocating points here), +250dex, +130Wis, +200 Con, +50 Int , +50 Vit
Racial attribute bonuses dont take affect until lvl 10 . a simple test would be to level a race to level 2 and notice that their stats only changed by one.

OK hehe, well it even makes it more apparent, is the racial ability that much worth it?

actually i made a mistake you dont get any points in any stat till level 10 (not even the 1 to all of the stats).

personally i think both racials are pretty good. Thestrans get a +2% offensive or +2% defensive bonus for their group ALL the time. whereas as the Vulmane one makes you almost unkillable in a full 6 group for 20 seconds on a 30min timer. id suggest choosing the race you like. As long as your not choosing a race that has its racial attributes that are worthless or near worthless to your class they will end up being equal in terms of points as everyone will get 800 attribute points. Instead of haveing 80 more dex youll have 40 mroe str and 40 more con. Its personal prefrence basically.

Personally I like the half giant alot. If you dont want to be main tank the strength is really a good boon. If you are going to be MT I belive you will benefit alot from +50% max hp. Otherwise I believe the orc has some good stats and a good racial for tank types.

You can check out Racial Attribute Bonuses (http://wiki.silkyvenom.com/index.php/Racial_Attribute_Bonuses) in the wiki for the way the races stack up that way. The long and short of it is that each race gets the same number of attribute points per level at ten and up, (20). The non-humans just have four more of their points pre-determined and can contribute only four to any stat, versus the human's five. This means they have the potential for higher ultimate stats, (for those stats which they recieve more than 1 automatic point in), but less developmental flexibility overall. So, for instance, a dwarf is the only class that can get 7 points in con per level, but never more than 4 dex or strength. Any human could have up to 5 per level in any one of the three.
