That's it Tyen! Tony Blair's a moderator, and we got Her Majesty looking after the SQL backend.... :D

In actual fact, it's just one Brit (me) and my team - we just wanted to provide an alternative to the Vanguard Servers boards. We feel there's a place for 2 sets of message boards, and we're moderating to try and provide a 'more mature' forum experience.

Tyen's boards are excellent - well staffed, and well run - but if the community there isn't for you, why not give the .coms a look?

If you mean official server forums, my understanding is that there will be none.

So many people opening, and advertising their own forums, it's kinda like the noob rush of retail launch where ever nub and his little brother start their own uber 3 man guild or perma lvl7s.

I'm banking on the heavy hitters to be the sites that will help get the whole community on the same forum. Just being a server forum does not make for a good forum. General, OT, class, etc, etc forums along with individual server forums is where it is at. Ten Ton Hammer has always been an invaluable resource while gaming in the past, but never had a use for their forums cause of official forums, maybe VG will change this. VN is just too damn ugly to use, warcry usually has server forums. Dunno, we'll see i guess..

ps. silky venom is a great site, I would like to see server forums here. Every once and a while a new giant will pop up for a individual game that will be where all the hardcore trolls go to, ie l2 orphus or w/e that site was called...

In an ideal world the <servers>.com would join forces with the <servers>.org at uberguilds.

I like the layout of the shidreth.com better than shidreth.org -- but I like the community at www.vanguardservers.com (*.org guys)

I don't mean to rail on Uberguilds or 'the brits' but I really hope the servers can get together and organize their own forums. Again, not a knock on uber or anything but those guys are trying to run a business (and while I'm sure its not a secondary market thing at all) I think it would be better for the actual individual communities to be 'not for profit'.

All the money we earn goes straight back to the community. We bought 2 hefty webservers and a SQL server and It didn't come cheap whatsoever. We also bought 50 Vbulletin licenses, and so many domains I can't even count.

Once we get out of the hole from that, is when we start giving away our profits to the large communities who help our network "flourish."

We have another company we run that creates gaming hardware (we invented) which I'm excited about and can't wait to release to the public. That is our side that helps us be profitable in real life, so there really isn't a need for us to target the community for self gain.

I've run into a problem where members are even telling me to put up donate links so they can donate to the site or throw some money at me for my work. Even though I love money, I simply won't accept any type of donation because we give to the community, not take.

The boards are all individually run separate from the uberguilds forums and run by players of the server.

The woefeather forums are run by me, a player of woefeather, uninfluenced by uberguilds, other then that small unnoticeable banner at the very bottom (which happens to be here as well, as Silky is also hosted by uberguilds). They just happen to be hosted and provided kindly by uberguilds.

You can goto the serversname.org (www.woefeather.org) and browse the server forums bareley ever noticing its uberguilds affiliation

Ya, thats true, but I was trying to make it sound more player run for the guy.. And even still its not like uberguilds are in the server specific forums all the time, changing whats what, its the appointed lead mod of that server making the decisions for that board, just running it through uberguilds to get it done.

I pretty much never moderate server specific forums unless there is something that obviously shouldn't be there. The lead moderators/regular moderators that where appointed by myself run those areas 100% and they tell me what they want added/changed. The server specific areas are 100% ran by the community and I don't interfere unless I have to.

He 100% runs that area. I appointed him because he asked and is a nice guy. The only thing I touch on the server specific areas are visual styles and adding new subforums when the mods ask for them.

I can tell you that the Woefeather area, the only thing I did was add a style to that area and threw up the banner that Asher sent. Other than that I haven't touched it ever since. The community runs these areas, not myself. I just overlook and make sure no porn/advertisements are posted anywhere.

Aslong as the community is happy, I'm happy.

I agree, more people know about Silky Venom than Vanguard Servers.

A redirect to each individual VanguardServers.com server forums would increase the presence ALOT

Was just about to make a thread about this. I've been dying for server forums for trading etc. I've looked at other websites mentioned here and they suck because no one uses them. And no one will use them.

Silky Venom should seriously get these. This site already has a lot of traffic so it would be perfect.
