It looks nice, but so did Lineage 2... my suspicion would be that, as in most Asian MMOs, there will be four very lovely character models and about 10 total outfits, and 1000 people running around that look exactly the same, grinding endlessly as they try to figure out the point of the game... only to figure out later that grinding is the point of the game.

But I hope I'm wrong. =)

This game has come up before - though nothing is known about it. I expect it's years away from seeing release state-side, if ever, due to lack of news.

I was talking to someone tonight who has played the beta of this game, or played on a foreign server or something. He said he can't wait to get it. He said it's basically all of the best things from MMORPG's all put together in one game. So it's very good, but it's also nothing new.

Quite exciting to me, although I suspect it could just be an upgraded WoW which really doesn't appeal to me all that much.

I had a good look at the website after making the post and it doesn't really look like my kind of thing really. I had an empty feeling about it. I also looked at Champions Online and Mortal. Mortal looks crappy to me, and Champions could be fun.

I'm still waiting for a big MMORPG though. I've been waiting several years to be honest and the fricken thing still hasn't shown itself.

That's really promising although I wasn't a big fan of the KOTOR games or Mass Effect tbh :( So I'm not sure it will be best suited to me. I'll hope for the best though.

I keep hearing great things about this game.

Someone told me it was pretty cool, many months back. I looked at the website and saw a stupid annoying anime style ^.^ face looking back at me, so I just immediately left. However my friends have just pre-ordered this or something, and they were allowed in beta this weekend. They swear that it's amazing and say that it's a mixture of all the best bits of MMORPG's from the past. The best of EQ, best of WoW, best of UO and Shadowbane, etc. I still resisted getting excited, but then I was playing MTGO tonight and someone else was talking about how great it is.

I saw some movies of it and it looks quite nice but I can't make out how the gameplay is. I would have to see it for myself I suppose. The one thing that puts me off this game is all the talk about questing. I just don't like questing. EQ is the only MMORPG I really liked because it allowed me to just find a fun place to hunt and kill everything there for a while and then move on. With questing I find that it just achieves the same thing but requires far more running around and less action.

I am tempted to maybe get in there though and see it for myself.

Anyone here have some good experience of it more recently?

I've been playing the beta for the last few weekend previews. It's polished, runs well, very few bugs, decent graphics, but for the most part it's all rather uninspired. If you've played the other MMOs then you've played Aion. All of the quests are kill x, gather y, talk so Soandso. It's a good game to play if you need an MMO and you're bored of the other games out there. I'm going to give Champions Online a try and if I grow bored of that then maybe move into Aion.

I would give it a shot if I decided to start another MMO. Although at the moment I'm really happy playing other kinds of games. I recently got in to Magic the Gathering Online which is amazing.. Kind of expensive, but amazing. I also play Arma2 and I'm looking forward to OFP2.

I agree Ashe, the thing runs great for me, haven't had so much as a hiccup on my laptop. The first thing I said to my friend who played it this weekend with me was, "Guild Wars." For some reason the game just reminds me of guild wars. I think it's just that Asian style. My friend, who says he's played pretty much any mmo that's come out in the past couple of years, was highly impressed with it. But honestly this guy has only played a handful of games and even then not for very long. He plays WoW religiously and I give it a month before he's back there. Me, I'll play for a month and then I'll see.

I am looking forward to Dragon Age as much as the next BioWare devotee, but I think you may have over-hyped it just a tad. :)

ARGH!

I downloaded the OPEN Beta from Bit Torrent and it took forever and then I screwed up a few times installing it. I finally got it installed and I find out that it needs a key! Zomg wtfz. The key is only from Fileplanet or if you pre-order the game, so it's not very open :(

Anyway, if anyone happens to have a spare key they don't want, please send my way! If not oh well. I hear good things about this game but I hear that it's good for a while then really boring, so perhaps if I skip this game I'll just be saving myself from a month of gaming in a game I'll never go back to.

Honestly I rarely ever jump on the hype wagon. But this time it will be the best game ever.

If only for the developer grade toolset. Thats basically why I'm buying it! I look at the official campaign as just a "bonus". I liked NWN 1 & 2 for the same reason.

But my comment still stands. DA:O will be the best game ever where as NWN1 & 2 were more of a multiplayer game.

Ohhh well yeah, aint that the truth. Still, got my fingers crossed for this one. I always find single player RPG's a lot more reliable, although single player RPG's are my thing. I'd much rather be playing through Two Worlds or something rather than a FPS or some grindfest MMO. Having said that, I never got in to the NWN games at all really :( They were good but just didn't grab me. I have Mask of the Betrayer installed at the moment but I can't bring myself to keep playing it. Having to run around life tapping souls every half hour doesn't really help either.

I loved the Baldur's Gate games though so maybe this one will work for me.

I have to agree. I didn't get into NWN either but I did love the Baldur's Gate series.
