I wasn't even in game yet... I ran into an interesting problem at character creation.

1 - The servers were not visible until I created my first character.
2 - I created my first character, then deleted it because it was the wrong class and found that the character creation button was missing. I had to exit the came and log back in.
3 - Again, when I logged back in, with no character to select, it said that the worlds weren't available... until I created a character.

Yeah, that's the way they are doing it. Only 8 characters per account. you choose a server for your character during character creation

The problem was, not only were the servers not listed, but there was an error message at the bottom of the screen that implied that they were not online. Really bogus.

Are you sure their being not online was an error? Not at all uncommon for launch, particularly a pre-release launch.

Things are still weird. I just logged off the server. At the character select screen I see my character and the following error message in a box about knee high on his image.

"All worlds are currently down."
"Waiting for them to come up..."

And yet, I select my character and log into the world without any problems.

Fascinating....
