Problems Installing ...

Hello.

13 hours ago or so, I started downloading the 5 files, in order to play VG.SoH. Files were these: http://help.station.sony.com/cgi-bin/soe.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=16708

Well, I went to bed. I wake up, and see that the .exe and two .cab's downloaded sucessfully, however, the rest of files still not end. they were at like 30-40%. Well, I say, let's wait some hours more. But 5 min later, I see that all DL finish. So I start the VGD.exe, and I try to install the game. But then, at the 50% of installation, it shows an error and close. I then go VG window, and start the client. I put my account name, and such, then the client start patching the game and downloading things.

Is this normal? I mean, I know that for one reason I fail to understand, I didn't complete downloaded all the files, but, the client can download the rest of files I don't have and play the game good?

How you guys installed your game?

I think it's an either/or situation. You can either download all those cab files and install the game that way OR you can just install the patcher and let the patcher download all the files. They are trying to provide options in case the patch server gets to slow with all the users trying to get in at once.

Sounds like the download you were doing didn't fully complete, which caused corrupted and incomplete files which can't be installed. Running the patcher should download and overwrite any incomplete files, plus downloading all the rest of the files you need...so in the end it should work.

I have been patching since 11am...still going...the indicator is all yellow but the blue is still going....how long is this gonna take?

When I came into beta in August it took about 20 hours from when I started till it was done.

No clue how many peeps are DLing 'now' as compared to then.
