Major Bug?

after todays patch my game doesnt work. When i choose my character it lods 1/10 of the bar then it goes back to the Character selection screen and just sits there blank and does nothing any ideas?

I'm getting the same thing click to enter the game, and screen flashes and I'm right back at staring at my character. Just stuck there. I can hit escape and quit. Just started after the most recent patch.

They just patched, I hope it's one of those cases of the "servers are reporting as up but aren't really." I played fine for a few hours earlier today.

Same thing, select character, starts to load into the world, then flashes to standing on the select character platform in the clounds with the 4 pillars, the clouds still moving but all particle effects stopped. Character is doing normal character standing there animations, but I can no longer rotate the camera around the character, and there is no interface at all, unless I try to do a command and then the chatbox pops up, but not actually in the game.

Windows xp pro, Nvdia 7900 gt, latest drivers, widescreen 1680x1050 (they did jsut make widescreen adjustments it said in the patch notes, dont see how it would affect this but who knows)

Same exact thing for me. I tried logging in my brothers character and it logged in just fine. But my character, I get this problem. I emailed tech support describing my problem and attached a copy of my VGCLIENT.LOG file... Don't know if this will help... Hopefully they get it fixed soon.

Yeah im getting the Same exact problem as all of you. I hope this is fixxed soon too. I hope the devs relize that there is a problem.

On the offical forums I knew the devs were kinda looking through them so they could pick up on problems. Is there anyplace we can email or do something to let them know there is a major problem?

same problem except I can't even get to character select screen ... i just get a black screen just before character select would pop up

I just opened VG againt and saw that my server has gone down. So hopefully they will bring it back up with problem fixxed. Anyone elses server go down that was giving them an issue?

Looks like it might just be Florendyl. And yep, server's down. Here's hoping it'll be back up soon.

Well, I logged into SOE support and filled out an email form describing my problem. Also attached my clientlog file just in case. They probably know something is wrong, or atleast I am guessing they do.

Just out of curiosity, what server are you guys playing on that causes the problem?

Same problem here, trying to get on to Florendyl. Looking at the VGClinet.log i find this: [01/27/07 22:37:32] WARN: Warning: Failed to load 'FXclassROG': Package 'FXclassROG' version mismatch
And that is after having run a full scan after first encountering the problem.

I do three things:

- Post on any of the first few listed affiliate sites (Elrar yesterday implied that they regularly monitor the sites)
- Send an e-mail to customersupport@sigilgames.com
- Go to http://vanguard.station.sony.com/ and put in a help ticket

I don't know which is the best, so I just go with all three.

Bingo. That is also the server I play on. And I also noticed that line in my log. Says the exact same thing... Hmm...

Yep, after the patch I can't get beyond the character selection screen on Florendyl (spelling?). I was near the goats that you need to shear for a quest.

While stuck in the character select screen limbo, chat was working. I was able to catch a GM broadcasting that they were bringing the server down again to try and fix the login problem. Definitely on their end.
Status right now is the server (Florendyl) is locked.
Looks as though about half the servers are having similar issues.
