Clerics are the most played Class in VG?

Hi all,

i noticed on my server Gelenia that when i do a /who Cleric all count, that there are far more Clerics ingame that any other class...
Well now i ask myself if we clerics will have serious problems later getting a group...
What do you guys think?

If a group is taking on stuff that really requires a group to be on point almost every fight its not a bad idea to have more than one healer in group so you actualy might find more groups with multiple clerics in group.

Its popular now but let the game get its bearings and you will see new emerging class fads

Hum, I dunno actually why the population would be that high. Clerics aren't THAT spectacular :eek:. And our group heal sucks the bottom of the barrel. Anyway, I haven't ran across that many other clerics on Gelenia.

I'm a cleric but I haven't really seen all that many clerics on Florendyl server. I Haven't seen really any shaman, bloodmage or disciple though. I think there are more cleric in the area I am (central Thestra) though, simply because of where it is.

I think, perhaps, that new players will associate clerics with being the best healers even if they are not in VG. It's just a general assumption.

I agree with a previous poster
you will often see a "fad" class. One class will emerge as the strongest solo'er or the most desired class.
You may see groups constantly calling out for healers, and then there will be a large surge of new clerics being leveled up so that people can get groups. As the need for clerics is filled then it may move towards tanks or some other class will be the most sough after and again there will be large number of that class being brought up.
Healers are generally a usefull class. We have an obvious and immediate benefit. Some of the DPS classes usefullness often are not noticed until the member leaves the group and you notice how slowly the mobs go down. But when a healer pulls you back from the brink of death, or saves you that long corpse run you notice the imediate benefit of having a cleric in the group.

In the end, play the class you enjoy the most and fits your playstyle. The needs of groups will be in constant change, and if you level up a character based on the most "looking for _____________" you will always be a step behind and ever frustrated.

On my server (Thunderaxe) there is a bazilllion clerics and paladins.

I mean, a lot. Every second person I see is one. It's like everyone figured they'd get groups easier as a healer or something... all I see now is groups begging for DPS classes, lol.

if you haven't seen any clerics, are you sure you aren't a kojan? they can't be cleric :P

More than any other healing class, but there are about %50 more Rangers than Clerics on my server.

My class, disciple is the lowest and not sure why. It's a great class to play.
