New to the game and crafting.. got 2 questions (outfitter and reaping)

I finally finished the starting outfitter quests yesterday and decided to try and create one of the 2 leather products I can now make. However I found I needed an item I don't have. I have mangy strips, which I can convert into mangy leather. But I need mangy stack for myu product. I assumed this was a bunch of mangy leather, right click and i got a stack. But so far it just wants to disassemble the leather into strips. Anyone who can tell me if I'm on the right path and just don't have enough leather (got 22 just now), or if I need to be doing something else?

My second question is regarding reaping. I found out I need to be reaping "jute" but can't seem to find any. I'm hanging around Lomshir atm. Anyone who can point me in the right direction to find some?

Im not sure this will help, but it sounds like you need to do some leather refining first. If you go to a refiners table you should have a recipie (if you have gotten them all) for leather created from your mangled leather stacks. I wish I remembered the names of it all better, but visit the refining table first before the finishing table.

The second question I can't help you with as I havnt been in that area, but there are generally newbie harvesting places rather close to each starting area, so ask in game and look around more I guess.

I found the jute! I took your advice and had a better hunt around and found me a few plants :)

As for my other problem. I've logged into the game so I can get my phrases right :)

I have in my inventory:
27x Mangled Hide
28x Mangled Strip

I have the following two finishing recipies:
Primary: Mangled Leather Hand wraps
Secundairy: Polished leather strapping.

Both of these need "Mangled bundle". The only other recipe I have is a refining recipe for "jute cloth". So my question is how do I get Mangled bundle? Is it a recipe I'm missing?

I think you need to level up a bit more and learn it from the trainer. And Im also doing the same professions as you but I cant seem to find anything I can reap also.. hoping somebody knows

Mangled bungle is a refining recipe i belive, go to a refining station - not a finishing one and you should be able to turn hides into bundles

I was a level 3 outfitter when I posted that problem. This morning I hit level 4 and got a new skill (refined leather i think), and that let me create my mangled bundle :D

Btw did I mention I like this crafting system. Much better then the system in any of the other games I've played. SOE may make a full time crafter out of me yet ;)
