I have scoured all the sources I know for any official details of the Diplomacy system. There seems to be almost nothing known at present about any aspect of it.
I believe this will be one of the larger facets of the game and I hope to be poised to take advantage of it upon release.
IRL, Diplomacy is a complex social interaction that involves using tact to gain an advantage over your opponent to further an agenda. In-game, I hope it has as much bearing on the world community and I hope it's as important in the overall game scheme as adventuring will be.
I doubt there is any official info on these, but here is a few basic questions I have been thinking about...
1. Will physical characteristics play into diplomacy ? i.e, will a human female have a higher 'persuasion' skill to human males than a female Half-Giant has to human males ?
2. Will my adventuring accomplishments add or detract from my ability to be a diplomat ? Does being a badass dragon slayer make me more revered amongst my community (kinda like a war hero) ?
3. Will high-level diplomats effectively be able to set the agenda for a complete faction in terms of how that faction interacts with other factions ? i.e., can I cause the Human faction to hate Barbarians, or cause my Human town to ally with an opposing faction ?
4. As a diplomat, will I be able to have hidden agendas when I perlay ? i.e. can I use reverse psychology on NPCs ?
5. Any educated guesses on Diplomacy classes yet?
I apologize if any of this has already been covered, and I know most of this info has yet to come out, but speculation is better than nothing for me :)
