Stuck on Diplomacy

So I had fun this weekend. I tried out all three spheres and progressed in all of them. Diplomacy in particular I enjoyed as something to do while waiting on friends or as a break from the hectic battles.

However, I seem to be stuck. I got to skill level 40 with my starting quests. There's a guy in my home town (Halgarad) who is offernig to teach me about Civic Diplomacy, but to complete the first quest he sent me to parley with either some crafters or soldiers.

I've checked pretty much every crafter and soldier that I could find, and the lowest skill parley I could find is 100.

I tried beating this, but I lost a few times, dropping my faction (I lose about 10 faction every loss). Maybe in many many tries I could win something so far above my skill level, but by then I would likely be KOS to my own city.

I tried running to Leth Nurae and Veskar's Exchange to see if there were any easier ones there, but I couldn't find any. Am I missing something? Am I just stuck until they put in easier quests? Has anyone else had this problem?

FWIW by the time I was finished with the newbie line all the way through to getting the horse I was around 43-45 at least. After doing those quests and helping flip a level with Civic Diplomacy in Leth Nurae last night I'm up to 51. I can take the Civic diplomacy npcs that are at 50-75 but not much higher than that.

Where have you found Civic Diplomacy in the 50-75 range? I might be able to win those. I checked around Leth Nurae but didn't find them, and I spoke to pretty much everyone in Halgarad and the lowest I found was 100 there.

In Leth Nurae try the Guardians that wander around near the Palace or near the Arcane Sanctum. Some of the NPCs in the Merchant area are in that range as well. You certainly can't been the Dragoons who are 500 or 750! They only need one point to win! :)

The flipping the leven in LN was fun last night I got to it late there was a player who had already done about 2/3rds of the work and I came in and helped with a couple parleys and it triggered a citywide buff that gave us all an additional card for an hour! One of the other diplomats in the area crashed and lost his card but he managed to flip the lever back on and restart the buff.

I highly encourage Diplomats on each server to join a common channel to discuss the sphere and to coordinate action in specific areas for a goal. In beta the channel they used was Dip. We used that one last night on Targonor to talk about and coordinate the buff lever in LN.
