Leaving "Shang Village" with your gear?

yesterday I saw someone standing around Tanvu wearing the gear he had on from "Shang Village". Cloak, Sword, armor. He was afk so I couldnt ask him how he did this.

i do know if you try swimming off the island it drops off your body. and when you complete the quests on the island it drops off.

anyone have any idea how this guy may have done this? theres no shops or anything on the island

what level was he? I believe he was 3. is that relevant?

In beta, I met a buddy of mine on the island... I was around lvl 17 at the time. We never did try this, but I wonder if those items can be traded to another? Some sort of exchange has to be going on...

Also, you could probably just swim off of the island with it on.

Nope ... tried that .... as soon as you swimming through to the next chunk it is auto deleted from your inventory.

And the items are no trade so no giving to someone.

Reckon where you would go if you cast recall before you did the last quests there... Tanvu?

Or do you get recall now after you leave the island? (I haven't had a low lev
alt since Beta 3 so I dunno about recall)

Depends whether they intend everyone to lose that gear or merely have that as the default outcome on the main plot line. It's not exactly overpowered, it just looks nice...
