How is harrow useful for a tank class? It is a rear positional skill. Do they even look at what they are coding?

Man, if you think that a mob is always going to be in front of you when you tank, you obviously haven't played a tank in any game much, no offense.

Offtanking, overaggroing DPS classes, saving the healer, etc. Positional styles are useful for those situations.

Yes, I have. You should have the mob facing you nearly all the time if you are the only tank in the group. No other game has rear situational skills for the tank.

So don't use it?

I can personally think of many times that I wouldn't have minded a rear positional style as a tank.

Oh, and you're wrong, DAoC had some. :)

Shadow Step = You get behind mob.

Harrow = Lifetap while behind mob.

Macro:
/cast "Shadow Step"
/cast "Harrow I"

Press button, you teleport behind your target and harrow them.

Where's the problem?

Well, I don't have shadow step yet.

I stand corrected then. No biggie.. I just think we need some tuning. I regularly play with a paladin duo and he seems to fair so much better than I.

Well, sure. And it's easy to get frustrated and lose perspective sometimes.

The DK may very well need some overall tweaking (I've heard they have difficulty maintaining aggro) but Harrow is likely not part of the problem.

Shadow Step comes at 12, Harrow is 10...it's kind of a strange order, but not really a big deal.

I can't really recall ever NEEDING the lifetap hp from it before 12 anyway.

Harrow is at 8 Shadowstep is at 10. And Before 10 you wont be needing Harrow.

This is really confusing people. I am constantley asked how I do that and have to explain it every time. People just used to being lazy I think (myself included). I have broken about 50% of the bad habbits I picked up in EQ2 and am going back to being more carful and taking more time to think, but honestly it has been a while since a mmorpg has required any sort of attention span to play it so its a re-adjustment for sure. :)

I like it though.

Part of me always wants to tell people "figure it out" when they ask. Not to be a jerk mind you, I realize it would sound like that to people and thats why I dont do it. The reason is actually because there is a definate "cool factor" involved in figuring it out for yourself.

Not that its all that difficult to figure out... But it takes some patience and some actual reading before reacting. When I got shadow step I read it and was like "hmmm... I wonder if that will work with Harrow..." Then it works and you're basicly like "Kick ass!!" when it first happens. :p

Anybody keeping track of how many "Harrow what's is good for" threads this makes?

I like the figure it out idea.
