First of all, you probably made your character in Kojan or Qalia. I'm not too familiar with Qalia, but you have to get to the main city and take a boat. In Kojan, you need to get to Tawar Galan (or there may be a boat to Targ in Tanvu, too) and take the next to last southmost boat. The boats take forever to get there, so don't worry. Must be some old Everquest hangup with slow-ass boats. The last southmost dock used to have a teleporter on it to New Targonor - not sure if it still does! He was an ork fellow.

New Targonor is the main city in Thestra.

Now, to get from New Targonor to Three Rivers (a Thestran city with level 8-10's and up), you need to traverse the road. This is tough. The mobs are level 28-30 there at the beginning. My suggestion? Go in at the lowest level possible without a death penalty (level 6?), so you can die alot, or get feign death at level 14. A level 4 disciple has done this walk - it's tough, but you can do it. I veered right off the road to avoid some of the spiders and crossed into a rocky area, avoiding fae slavers, and eventually bears and snakes. The mobs gradually decline in level as you get closer to Three Rivers, so there's more leeway later on for aggro range screw-ups.

Most of the important cities/towns around should be on your mini-map.

Riftseeker's Torrent has an asian-themed section with good disciple drops. Though, at the time of this writing, disciples benefit most from using bare hands because of the increased special ability crit %.

Horses can be bought at the castle above Tursh, way north of Three Rivers, along with saddlebags, which are a great boon to your carrying capacity. I couldn't find saddlebags in Kojan, sorry.

The only Disciple trainer I know of is in Renton's Keep. The quests there are for levels 16+, so be careful. The hobgoblin valley south of there tends to be a pain because the hobgoblin camps will all come at once. Maybe my puller was just too low level, who knows. But anyway, lots of death there.

Khegor's End is a mine dungeon for levels 12-20. In my opinion it's rather poorly designed, but you'll be tempted to go there because you'll get about 10 quests from Themnwar's Shield. I say, do the quests around Themnwar's first. The Kalem Sisters are in a gypsy caravan just east of Themnwar's, they give lots of productive quests. There's also some quests at the West end of Themnwar's Shield to kill slimes under the Dam, do that. And bandit quests, those are fun.

If you need quick money, kill the named slime in the water under the dam. It tends to drop a good bard flute, some heavy boots, and an axe.

Have fun!
