Armorsmith: Capabilities

I decided to be an armorsmith because I am a bard..this was assuming an armorsmith can make medium/chain armor for my bard. Am I incorrect in this assumption? I am a level 6 (noob) in armormsith, and it appears that I can only make plate.

I'd be curious to know this as well. I've seen medium armor specifically referred to as "chain mail", so at least not all medium armor in game is some sort of leather. But as you've said, I haven't seen any smithing recipes for medium armor.

I was under the impression that Medium armor is considered Leather for the most part and is made by Leathermakers (armorsmith-heavy, leathermakers-medium, tailor-light).

If there is a medium chain-mail...I'm not sure where it fits in as it does seem like it would be by those that work with metal.

I am a lvl 17 Blacksmith, closing in on 18. I have looked at the recipes up through like lvl 26, there is absolutely no chain what-so-ever. There was talk a long time ago about their possibly being some med armor available to Armorsmiths, but I wouldn't keep my hopes up.

99% of all the armor you can make as an Armorsmith will be Heavy, Plate Armor (aka, tanks and CLR's only).

I would reccommend changing to outfitter, or taking up Weaponsmithing if you plan on making gear for yourself. As being an Armorsmith won't get you very far from what I have seen.
