Hey all, just starting up Vanguard, have played eq2 from launch-current, playing a hardcore raiding templar as main.

First, does race choice matter much in this game? I know in eq2 after about level 10, race bonuses really didn't make any difference. If I want to be a cleric, would I be stupid to choose anything other than high elf?

Second, which healer would you say is the least played? I loved playing a templar in eq2, but judging from the large number of posts in this forum about clerics, are they an oversaturated class? I may wind up playing this game to endgame content, and don't want to play a class that is never needed because there are tons of people playing that class.

Appreciate any responses :)

Yes race matters. Each ability makes difference. Also your triggerable racial buff is important to consider. I would look at the chart, decide a class and then decide. With Cleric you'll be looking at Vitality and Wisdom for primary stats.

Clerics are quite powerful, although I'd not be surprised if the nerf bat swings at them soon. Blood Mages and Disciples have both already been smacked, and all healers were way overpowered in this game.
