Hello all,

I posted this at TTH forums, so forgive me if you've read this already.

I have always loved playing a druid more than any other class... and I'm currently a level 17 druid on Thunderaxe. While I do like the class, I think there are some things that would give it that something extra that I think is missing.

See, the difference between the EQ druid and Vanguard druid all boils down to one major thing... fun. In EQ, I would have gladly rerolled my druid and leveled it all the way again, because it was just so much fun, and so diverse. But I was just thinking about if I would do it in Vanguard... and I don't think I would. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy where I'm at now, but getting to this point... well, I just don't think it was as fun as it could/should have been.

With some simple changes, I think this class could be right where it needs to be. My number one wish for druids though, which is above anything else: animal charms. The fact that rangers can do it (along with out-dps'ing the crap out of us), and we can't is quite frustrating. Aren't we the more nature loving class? Animal charms in EQ just added a ton of depth to us as to how we chose to play. I don't feel they would overpower us, either.. charms break, and we wear light armor.. 'nuff said.

That brings me to my next wish... some kind of relationship with nature. The lighting spells are great, as are the roots and snares. But that's just superficial stuff... Should bears, wolves, *insert mean animal here* really want to kill us if we are actually protectors of nature? It would be a nice way to set us apart from the other classes of Telon.

I searched through some forums a bit, and saw some of you who had great suggestions and wishes also... I figured I would quote one just to get everything in the same area... And btw I completely agree with some of these suggestions.

so much is still missing and so much is not yet balanced/fixed.

i would love to see abilities which would use endurance.
and what about channeled roots spell? better yet, channeled AOE roots! with vanguards move-while-casting mechanics channeled spells would be very viable.
and what happeend to gullyberries? the ones that were supposed to give you water breathing? i coudnt find them at the trainer.
Phenomena needs fixing. particulary calamities.
flavour phenoeman. eg. forest wall, summon thick trees in circle 15 yard around you for ** seconds that will ward off any enemies.
weather control phenomena (weather system not in game yet)
druids as the guardians of nature should be able to charm beasts for short periods of time.
where are our "forms" and stances? most of other classes get them, how come we dont? other classes specialise at lvl 15-20, eg. necros with forms, monks with fighting styles. that makes one necro different from the other. all druids are the same however. i would like to be able to choose a path to walk. to be different.

things like that, that are still missing from the class and would make druids much more fun to play.
Mensis touched on phenomena skills, and made some great suggestions. I totally agree that we could get some wonders that don't have any combat purpose.. just for show. But also our combat ones could be a little more useful too. Starfall, our damage calamity isn't too exciting, especially when we can get a critical hit from Solar Flare or Lightning Strike which will do more damage. I love the group heal wonder, though. Haven't used the root one yet, but I enjoy the variety. But, I just have hopes for something more... unique. The phenomena system could be the heart and soul of the druid class... it's our class specific ability. Why not give us a long duration animal charm phenomena skill, or a powerful DoT, a special animal form, or beefier elemental pet? Then to go with the lifesaving wonders why not give the option of a longer battle immunity buff (like the 2 hit one we have). Of course these are just quick off the top of my head ideas, but diversity is a good thing! I am fine with the 30 point pool... make us think hard about what phenomena skill to use... but having more options would certainly make me use them more often than just throwing in a Starfall when I get bored waiting for a mob to die.

All of you other druids out there, speak up too. Without official forums, we just have to work a little harder to let our wishes be heard, but I think we have a chance. Post your druid class wishes!
