I don't know that it would make sense to just buy the IP without the assets. In other words, it is possible this goes beyond just "SOE buys Vanguard" and into "SOE buys Sigil." It would make more sense that way, I think.
What do we (Silky Venom) have as evidence to either corroborate or disprove this rumor? Well...nothing, really.
But that's just it. We're getting nothing...not even a denial. I can name a number of reasons why they would not be able to deny/confirm the rumor if it turned out to be true (the company acquisitions/sells that I've been a part of have always required a period of silence while the deal was formed), but I can't come up with any reasons why they would let the rumor fester with this much public exposure without even a single denial if it were false.
Take that for what it is worth, which is circumstantial evidence at best. Maybe SOE's Brenlo (who registered here just last Thrusday and approved for posting today) can clarify for us soon.
