The follow is an excerpt of a conversation I had with a friend of mine while having tea this afternoon:

Sometime during the night a parchment was slipped under my door. It was sealed with a signet which I did not seem to recall. I donned my spectacles and took a seat by the fire to read the document. Carefully I broke the crimson wax seal as to preserve it for later study. As the parchment unfolded these words magically appeared…

“We have emerged from the shadows.”

And then once again the parchment was blank. I took the wax seal into my study and started searching my records for an indication of who may have sent this mysterious document. After perusing numerous dusty tomes and crumbling scrolls I finally came across a copy of the symbol from the seal. It appeared to be hastily sketched and had this notation next to it:

The secretive Crimson Fellowship is one of the most exclusive organizations on Telon. The Knights of the Fellowship wander the world settling disputes, righting wrongs and on occasion recruiting an individual who shows exceptional potential. The origins of the Fellowship are cloaked in secrecy but many believe they predate the Cataclysm. This certainly seems likely given the rumored base of the Crimson Fellowship: an island fortress secluded behind eternal storms and magical wards.

We conversed at length about its meaning and could come to only one conclusion. The elusive Crimson Fellowship has emerged from secrecy to walk amongst us. Details are sketchy at this time and I am sure as the days pass there will be more information available. Be on the lookout for its members. Rumor has it they are allowed to identify themselves and will be wandering Telon with smiling faces. They will be willing to lend an ear, offer advice, and could be possibly recruiting. This is indeed exciting news and I welcome the members of the Crimson Fellowship to our growing community.

i did a search for this guild on vgplayers.station.sony.com yesterday & they have a Crimson Fellowship already formed on every server.

The strange thing is that most of the guilds are leaderless & are comprised of lvl1 characters.

There is one exception where one server has 2 lvl50 GM's in.

My guess is that they are now recruiting volunteering players who will be the GM's eyes & ears in the game.

As you can see the Crimson Fellowship is an ancient organization of Telon. Its roots are planted firmly in the past. They re-emerged about at year ago and have been quietly organizing and recruiting. Most of the ancient structure was lost so it has been our task to re-form and build our numbers.

Since Jacosta has so kindly brought us into the spotlight I have received many requests for more information.

**OOC I am Suzanne Owen AKA KeeJay Stardancer. I am an employee of Sigil Games Online, Inc and am their Liaison to the Crimson Fellowship. The Crimson Fellowship is an organization of Vanguard players, just like many of you who spend some their free time assisting GMs, answering petitions, gathering information about bugs other in-game issues, helping track down exploiters and gold sellers, and many other things. They do this on special Knight Accounts assigned and monitored by Sigil. These are separate from their play accounts. They have limited abilities that are helpful to them in assisting customers.

We also have a society within the Crimson Fellowship called the Twin Mask Society. This is a place where our Knights can role-play participate in quests and events and help bring a little cheer to Telon. You do not have to be in the TMS if you are a Knight but you do have to be a Knight to be in the TMS.

I also wanted to respond to the concerns that I have been receiving via email.

Knights of the Crimson Fellowship:

Do not Knight on their play accounts nor do they play on their Knight accounts.
Do not Knight on the same server where they play.
Do not secretly help their friends, families or guild mates.
Can not help you with quests, reimburse your items or experience or give you “phat lewtz”
Are not paid employees of Sigil.


Knights of the Crimson Fellowship:

Are friendly kind and helpful.
Are dedicated to helping the Vanguard community.
Are looking out for all of us and helping to make Vanguard a better place.
Are an all around great group of people!
Are waiting for you to join…

Come test Fate and her challenges that have laid despondent throughout the ages. Challenge them who have already proven their commitment, as in days gone by. But first, challenge yerself, for if ye cannot take that first step towards Knighthood, there be no one who can do it for ye.

1. Knights have been in the game since beta 2.

2. I think all the Knights are level 1. There's no reason to be level 50.

They're just advertising so as to increase their numbers.

Are 'Knights' essentially what 'Guides' were in EQ?

That seemed to be a fairly good program... I participated in that for about 8 months 20+ hours a week. In the end though it just wasn't for me. I had no real way to help players other than escalate problems to a paid gm. So I basically functioned as a helpdesk filter...

anyhow some people will probably like doing that.

Only trying to do my part in helping the community. I'm glad you've gotten a lot of requests for information and interest. After I got the application from you I realized that I didn't have the time to devote to the guide program that I would have liked. I give 110% and with helping to run a guild as well as real life that would have interferred with the CF.

Crimson Fellowship (guides/GM/whatever ya wanna call them) should NOT be listed on VGplayers under the stats for people turning level 50 and whatnot. Sure it may be petty, but showing GM's in the rank of when people obtained level 50 is stupid.
