Default the white stuff, GFX problem

i have been having this graphical glitch for some time now, it comes and goes and for a while i been ignoring it. but now its getting out of hand.

this is what it looks like


sorry for the big image.

anyway, it seems to be random on different textures, cant pin point any pasterns.

anyway, just thought this needed to come to light in some way. hope someone can relate to my problem and its just not me

turn on your torch and see if it goes away....no kidding, mine does.

And if I don't have my torch on, sometimes turning on makes it go away!

Isn't that the typical sign of the 'corrupt shader cache'? My roomate deleted both files in the cache directory and his white textures went away. If you're leery of deleting things, move them to a temp directory and restart Vanguard.

yes, i do remember, the torch dose work a few times to change it. but not in this case, it seems the torch works outside more often then inside to fix this.

i am thinking this may have to be linked with lighting some how


anyway, what is this corrupt texture thing you speek of?

Ok, I couldn't find the original thread that I read for deleting the cache fixing the white textures, but on the SOE knowledgebase there's an article about crashing and deleting the cache.

Crash Support

Clearing the cache fixed the white textures on my roomies machine. If I come across the original thread I'll update this one.
