Just something I've bugged. You only get 2h Piercing skill when using a lance.
Example of what im talking about would be like using a 2h axe and getting "Great axe" and "2h slash". But with lance it doesnt upgrade "Great spear" nor does it have its own skill apparently.

After a day of using a lance on even con and yellow con mobs when I could, I have 65 2h piercing skill, but i'm still horrible with it because of the above bug.

ALSO: 2H Maul, the crafted one atleast (protectors), has the graphic of an offhand blacksmith hammer and its lol when you swing it as a 2H. Also has no durability. Yay for weapons that pay for themselves over time.

There is a weapon specialization skill called "Great Spear." If that skill is not increasing when you ram the spear down NPCs throats, let me know the name of it and I will see if it's set up correctly. Will go from there

Great Spear (which I assumed was the skill, thanks for responding ) didn't go to even level 1.

I solo'd blighted lands mobs (spiders, mutants and twenty metric tons of human npc's from the five brothers quest..which never spawn hehe)

I also tried using flame hardened lance while offtanking in ToD.


It may just be that weapon thats bugged?

Any chance they could fix the crafted maul graphics/durability? (not that I want to pay for durability, but if you fix the bad with the good then I'm ok with it)

It wasn't but I've not been able to get on and double check, or check for movement post-patch.

I doesn't increase Great Spear. At least.. it didn't when Great Spear was added I was squacking a bit about this before Great Spear was added and thought this was the fix but it wasn't. It's as if Lances are not considered Great Spears. I'll check again tonight. I'll be a happy Pallie when this gets fixed

if your lance is not increasing great spear, reply to this thread with the name of the lance and he will make sure that its set up correctly.

I've only ever used the one lance, so I cannot comment on the rest.

Also, are you trying to skill up with equal/higher level mobs or are you starting off with lowbie mobs?

I just fixed that Lance, as well as a bunch of others; they should now increase the Great Spear skill appropriately.

I submitted this a bug report weeks ago...seems it gets more attention here on SV than in a /bug report...
