Those of you using Nvidia 8800's and running under XP, Nvidia released new drivers yesterday.

Woot!

I'll do a 3DMark 06 run with before and after just to see if it beefed up normal performance as well (might be to just fix a few bugs).

I was struggling with the HD audio bus thing on windows which is failing since sp2 came out for xp so I didnt notice until late at night but the system did seem to feel "Tighter." Omw home to give it the real test...very exciting!

Was good for 35 more points

As far as in game performance, it didn't fix the problem I have with names (I can't see any names unless the only thing behind them is sky). Hopefully a few more performance patches from Sigil are on the way, I'd really like for this game to run a little better.

If I remember correctly, turning of antialiasing fixes that. I could be wrong though so maybe give it a shot?

I had the same problem, until I turned off AA. IIRC I had to turn it off via the NVIDIA settings as well as in-game YMMV.

Have downloaded the new drivers. Seeing an increase in performance in general, but will need to spend some time in VG to see if anything else happens.

Yes, I remember now. You had to go into your nVidia settings on the icon near the clock on your task bar and turn off AA there as well as ingame.

Thanks guys, on the Nvidia control panel I turned both AA and AF to application controlled. I still have AF turned up in the VG settings menu and the names appear to be working properly.

Thanks again.

Hmmm.... upgraded the drivers and lost half the mobo drivers. Fortunately my motherboard driver disk "seemed" to come through. This was using the UK drivers and a ASUS M2N-E SLI board.

Hopefully there is nothing crawling around the woodwork waiting to jump out and bite me on the bum!

According to the release notes (PDF):

Single-GPU Issues Resolved:
- The media player hangs when playing MPEG2 HD video clips using overlay in 1080i and then switching to full-screen mode.
- Added application profile for "Titan Quest Demo.exe" to support the current demo version.
- The system crashes after four or more suspend/resume cycles.

SLI Mode Issues Resolved:
- Company of Heroes, SLI: Screen corruption occurs when "Enhance the Application Setting" mode is set to 4x or 8x in the NVIDIA Control Panel.

They go on to list a variety of known issues, but Vanguard is not mentioned anywhere in the document.

Aye, just like any patch, they forget to tell you the important things that apply to you. They forgot to mention the tinfoil hat.

Seems to me a good update. I have only benefitted from it thus far. I guess we will start seeing real issues soon, good luck, Fozzik and Rabb1t!

No real changes for me here, although since last game patch I seem to be getting more multi chunk CTD's . After playing around today with em for around 8 hours, it hasnt beena miracle pill, although I can see some, mostly in mid range textures pop up.

Just a note after running the game a bit since new driver release I've had 2 full system resets, also the cpu was up to 33 from the mid 20's. While the game does feel a little more solid I still think they need to do some work.

Are you talking about temps? If so, even 33C is extremely good even for a C2D.

ya, just thought it was noteworthy that there was almost a 10c degree spike. As for the temps, they are usually in the mid 20c's. I keep it very clean, have the cpu fan at 60% constant and 2med outtakes, 1 low intake on an antec p180. Steel is nice, always cool to the touch
