Take Two Files Suit Against Thompson
Ars Technica is reporting that Take Two has finally had it with Jack Thompson and his repeated threats, lawsuits, retractions, and dismissals. Take Two has taken steps to fend off Thomson’s repeated assaults on their titles by filing a federal case against him in the state of Florida. They argue that the lawsuits brought on by Thompson violate their First Amendment rights and claim the suits are so vague as to be unconstitutional.
Jack Thompson couldn’t let that go without a rebuttal stating, amongst other things; “Dear Gamers and Gamer Publications on the Internet and Elsewhere:
I have been praying, literally, that Take-Two and its lawyers would do something so stupid, so arrogant, so dumb, even dumber than what they have to date done, that such a misstep would enable me to destroy Take-Two. With the filing of this SLAPP lawsuit last week, my prayers are finally answered.”
If nothing else, the guy is definitely entertaining |

you know, as much as Jack infuriates me, he does do one thing right. he's so completely incompetant that he really poses no threat. should he actually be removed from the picture, what if someone with similar anti-gaming sentiments were to take his place, but actually be charismatic, and/or intelligent enough to actually do some damage?

There's no such thing as a charismatic lawyer. There intelligence is often clouded by greed as well...I see no threats.
