Default Rogue Attribute points

Just started a rogue and I am wondering besides str and dex what is the next best stat to boost. I am Raki so I was looking at Vit to boost hp regen and run speed.

Assuming they ever tweak CON to make it worthwhile, I would go CON for the extra HP over the HP regen. Chances are if you get attacked at end-game or in PVP it will be more important to live through a big hit or two (higher max hp) than regen a small amount over a long period of time. I always put points into CON over VIT for a non-healer in hopes that some day it will give a substantial HP increase.

You are suggesting he put points in a worthless stat just in case they decide to change how CON works? This is terrible advice.

Con doesn't seem like a bad idea regardless. You won't be the only rogue out there and between caster classes with ridiculously high perception skills (28s spotting 50 rogues in stealth at 20 paces is just silly) you'd be well advised to raise con not just for some extra beef on your bones but for a higher resist table - you know you are going to get bow shot - nuked - attacked by invis slate using warriors - you name it - might as well have everything you can on in the hit point area. Mix that wicked dex and the slightly better resists you should get from con by end game and therein I would say you have more utility then the health regen and teeny bonus to run speed from vitality - If indeed con is tweaked later on once raids become a part of VG and or we leave Beta - then even better - but for now, it appears con isn't such a bad idea.

Off topic I know, but in the case a ranger spots you, pop Deter to parry his crit shot and ruin his opening chain Most rogues don't realize they can do this.

If human, and putting 4 points in it each level (5 in strength/dexterity) you net ~615 hit points at 50 and +16 to all resists.
For 5 points in dexterity and strength you'll have approximitly a bonus of 4.27% to your critrate at 50, and roughly +188 to your melee and ranged damage at 50. If you don't play human, I pity you. ;)

It could be compared to roughly 6.50% extra runspeed for 4 points in vitality/level at 50, or a slighty higher chance (perhaps quite impressive chance, I dunno any melee who's burnt down points in wis/int) of seeing who's attacking who in the encounter window (in case you can't figure it out by watching health bars and who the mob is actually visually attacking).

I don't see how you can say constitution is a useless stat for a rogue, when the other 3 alternatives are far, far below in performance.

If you want my opinion put your points in dex/str and the other 2or4 dont do any thing with yet. Now this may have you scratching your head but suposedly they are going to be puting a lock picking ability into the game and it may be based off some stat you never thought youd need like int or wis.

So untill rogues are finished I would hold off using the last of your points every lvl.
