Hey all:

Ott here...just came back to see what's what. And it appears..."not much"!

This forum used to be a bit more active. What happened??

Is there really that little going on in the game any more? Can anyone speak to subscription numbers? I actually cancelled my account, somewhat due to lack of time to play right now. I was hoping to stay abreast of what's what and what the new developments are, in the event I did reactivate my account in a few months when RL isn't so pressing.

SV used to be some of the more active forums for Vg...what happened?!?

Maybe it's just that crafting has gone the way-side?

Hmmmpf...guess I'll just have to be surprised in a few months...

Vanguard Crafters is the affiliate site that definitely gets some developer attention. I see Jansan on there a lot. SV remains a compendium and a good place to get the sense of the general community regarding crafting. The committed crafters spend more time on Vanguard Crafters, where there are some fairly good discussions going.

That being said, crafting is getting less developer attention than adventuring. The crafting community knows this and is adjusting; some are making the best of what there is, others are just hanging up the tool belts. Surprised?

Yeah the two developers that are left mainly post of the VGC site so I have pretty much go there to keep up with current crafting discussions. I used to just lurk there and post here but I found that nothing much happens here so now I post there and lurk here unless someone has a question here that I can answer. Many times the answer is a link to a VGC post.

No, Silius was transfered to the Russian Front so he's no longer working on crafting (and no longer posting) Jansan is the only dev currently working on crafting and posting on Vanguard Crafters.

The official forums have hundreds of ppl logged in at any given moment, that is what happened to silky venom. I just checked, 954 logged in currently.

LOL yeah Jansan has been handed the reigns by Silius as Silius has been assigned to oversee more than just crafting. Even though he hasnt posted much lately I still think it would be hard for him to give up crafting entirely and may post again when things get more settled

The official forums are just general gameplay discussion where people love to go to whine. I guess people think because its the official site that they will get heard more. Perhaps that is where most of the people that spent time in the gen disc of SV but for the most part the OP was about the crafting community and IMHO most of them went to VGC.
