Default Looking for a tutorial on how to set up home network

Time to show off my overwhelming ignorance again =)

Anybody have any suggestions on where I might find a tutorial or guide on setting up a home network. Using a wireless router with 2 of the comps connected via cat 5, with a 3rd comp on wireless. Mainly I am having trouble figuring out how to let them share a printer.

As always, any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Kirin

Do you have all the computers talking to each other? all of the computers need to be in the same workgroup E.G WORKGROUP or MSHOME and you need to enable File and Printer sharing for each system.
Once that is done you can then right click either disk drives, folders, files or printers and enable sharing allowing others on the network to read, write or both. For the computer attached to the printer you right click the printer and enable sharing and possibly name the printer.
For the other computers you then add printer and select "a network printer attached to another computer" and then you can either browse for a printer or enter the direct path I.E \\(computernamewithprinter)\(printername)

sorry if this is a little vague as i am a little rushed at the moment.

Assuming you have no software firewalls and are using Windows XP:

If all the computers are already connected to the router and able to access the internet, you are 90% of the way there.

Open the control panel, then double click on the network setup wizard. You'll have to do this on each computer. Follow the wizard. Give your workgroup a name and tell it to enable file and printer sharing. Make sure each computer has a unique name and description, so it's easy to tell what you're looking at later when you search your home network. Once the wizard is finished, tell it to just finish... you don't need to create network setup disks or anything.

You may have to restart the computers...but that's it. They will all have access to each other, and any folder or file or printer that you set up as shared will be visible to all.

Tom already described how to share a printer and hook up to it with the other machines.

Awesome, thanks much.

Am actually using vista, but i'm sure from what you said I can figure it out. Never occured to me to right click the printer itself.

Thanks again,
