Hello,

Was wondering if anyone managed to do the part of the quests in the higher level dungeon where you need to loot Crystall Ball from named mobs. If find this pretty lame to crawl the dungeon to kill the PH or the named to get a that much crystal balls. Is there a place where they drop more often ?

So we spent many hours there last week.

First we explored whole dungeon, found a herald, start to harvest mushrooms etc. Then we decided to give a try to farm aqual orbs (and we didnt know that is the easy part:-)).

Then we start look for the Crystal Orb. We killed almost every mob we found in the dungeon, all Waterlords, Hrukstraz (6 dot lvl 40) but no luck.

Then we found few blogs with Orb discovered on vgplayers in the Room of rituals. We found in our bags few ritual runs, so we started to farm them (you need 15 blue and 15 red).

After few hours and more nameds we got our Ritual rune, headed to the room and used it. Then the ritual began. The ritual lasts about 3 mins, then some Ogre type named pops. I dont remember its name, because it depoped in about 5 seconds...

OK, so we knew where runes drops, so we start to farm another set. We got them in about another five hours.
Performed ritual and instakill the named Ogre. And no Orb... Dunno if it is bug, or the droprate isnt 100%.

So while we farmed runes, we got about 120 orbs, that we prolly spend on Fallen adventures and we forgot about Obsiderru.

So sidenote to the devs: Try to change the droprate on the Orb to 100%. If We have to farm 30 runes with about 20% drop, it is too big timesink (and imagine how fast we levels while farming), and lost time to farm the Orb.

There's mobs in here you can and should kill before the named spawns? Kill them as -fast- as humanly possibly. I think then you get a different boss with a 100% drop rate on the orb. We did it 3 times i think before geting one. I may be thinking about a different event in there? I'm almost positive thats how its supposed to work.

Curse Gaming is your friend!! There is over 10 different mobs including named mobs And besides just killing stuff in KH is some decent xp, and the ice shards also drop at a decent rate on names(1 shard = 3 orbs)

Uf, ty. Will try it today. We tried it yesterday again with the same result. After that we killed adventures and got ancient tome. Im wondering if the raid quest spawns Hrukstraz (I hope not) or some bigger, stronger, nicer mob.

Im prolly too young for this type of quest even I learned RPGs back in the 90s

Since this is a thread about KH - I am stuck at the "arms of" quests.
You have to kill 48 of the rock golems and one "chosen of veleri" - I have scourged the whole zone but I have not seen a mob even closely related. The only mobs I have not yet killed in that zone are the augurers and the "rocksomething" in the central room where all three wings (arms) start at.
What mob is a "Chosen of Veleri", anybody can help?

Heh this was our experience. We could not kill the ritualists fast enough. If you have even one up (and we did the last time we did the encounter) you get the mob tht does not drop the orb. They all have to be dead. Our makeup: Pal, DK, SHM, BMG, MNK, BRD -- note what is missing no Sorc or Ranger for super DPS.

Whats funny is that this quest is grey to all of us now and if we were to go back and try it agian i'd give us only a 50/50 chance of burning the ritualist down fast enough even now with our average level of 41.

Easily the hardest quest in KH. Hrukstraz is a long slow pussy compared to this. We gave up after burning 4 sets of runes. Last time we were down to just 1 guy left who had 1/2 hp when the wrong guy spawned. I'm sure if either I or the bard or the DK were replaced with a Sorc or Ranger this quest is very doable. Just a case where nerfs to dps (Monk and Bard and I think blood mage too) have altered our particular groups ability to do some quests requiring very high dps.

edit: re chosen that is in Zossyr Hakrel IIRC, its a lizard I think should be near the cave in the valley not the cave with the three arms. Been a while.

My group was stuck at the chosen as well, so we went to the silver arm to kill the conjurers and rejuvenators for the silver arm quest. After clearing a small room (shrine room maybe) we waited for the rejuvenators to repop. When they did, one of the mobs that popped was a named and it was a Chosen of Vereri. So I would guess that you have to clear the other types of Zossyrs to get a chosen to spawn. I would assume you can hunt in any arm to get one to spawn, maybe only specific spots tho. I hope this helps!!
