Default Weird problem on new build

Hey guys, I put together my new build, and it works and everything.. yay ! But there's a random problem that I haven't seen before. When I turn on the power, it powers on like normal, but about 5 seconds in, it turns off for about 3 seconds then turns back on and boots up like normal. I get the PC beep(s) on the second boot but not the first.

I searched google and came up with some similar problems but for the most part I only found solutions if the computer stays off, and in my case it boots itself up perfectly fine. One suggestion was to clear the CMOS, would that help me? And I can live with this problem but if I could fix it that would be great too
Any input would be appreciated team, and thanks!

Sounds like either the motherboard, the power switch on the front of the case, or a very remote possibility of the power supply. Clearing the CMOS certainly would be one thing to try. Playing with the switch on the front of the case would probably be good too...make sure the power and reset buttons are connected to the motherboard properly and make sure neither switch is getting stuck when you're pushing it.

It may actually be a problem with the motherboard that you can't fix by clearing the CMOS. If all else fails, you may want to consider returning the motherboard before additional problems show up.

I have something like this happening on my computer at work. I kinda think that its related to the CPU / overclocking problem detection code ASUS uses in their BIOS. Didn't bother to delve deeper as I don't cold boot my computer at work ever

Another issue I've seen is a not properly set graphics card. Gfx cards can be quite heavy compared to the flimsy slots they are mounted in and even if you put in the attaching screws it can be in a state that causes that kinda stuff. Pushing and prodding it a little might help.

Hmm don't some mobos power up perform some diagnostic and then reboot*? I've heard a few people report this but it's turned out to be perfectly normal behaviour. I'd double check the manual/manufacturer's website.

Gift.
*usually if OC'd.

Does it do this even if you break into bios? Sounds like something the bios is doing/clearing through then it's restarting. Can you just break into bios and just let it sit there? If so, how is the CPU temp? Is it spiking up?

Hey guys thanks for the responses. I have looked around and I guess the power on power off is normal for some chipsets (super annoying though). My CPU was running at 47c in bios, but I guess since the chipset does that power on thing its normal. And I can't enter bios until the second boot.

I wish I could change it because it's kind of a nuisance but oh well

It's not some setting you can change?
