wow, all that from me simply pointing out the obvious? Saying the game has the same events as last year is not "coming to the defense of VG", it's across most games out there. Reach some more.

I'd prefer your description of "Stockholm Syndrome" over "Obsessed for 3 years over a game I don't play" any day of the week. Thx.

Yes, it was obvious. Almost all of us know games recycle their seasonal events. That's why you didn't need to run to Vanguard Saga of Joodah Protecting It's defence. Keep up son.
PS I'm not Silius so don't ask me for a reach around.

Repetitive holiday content could be received as a tradition by some, or a failure to do something worthwhile by others. Either way, there is so much else that is fubar, I can't get much interest up over the holiday crappola. It wasn't all that great the first time it came out anyway.
I think everybody's right. Joodah is perfectly within his rights to enjoy the game and to persist in stating, as he does, that as long as it is fun for those who play, what's the problem?
Folks who say that the game has been mishandled and shat on by pretty much everybody with any power that has touched it, are also right. Incontrovertably right.
I suspect that those that say the game is on it's last legs, are also correct.
Play on Jude. I think I can smell Rome burning though.

Well, it's just a video game - if it was gone tomorrow, life would go on for me, I'm sure
Not sure what the others here would do if that happened, though.

I'll tell ya what we would do. Probably be happy...safe in the knowledge that developers could move onto something bigger and dare I say it better.
Taloodah you would be absolutely pissed if VG got shut down. Because its about that point where you would find another MMO and work out that there really are far far better games than Vanguard now and that you've been wasting your money. We aint flaming we are trying to do you a service by saying: "Look sir PLEASE avoid this crap". But as always there are those, in this case you, that choose not to follow our warnings.
(not that VG is all that bad but better games exist. Honest!)

"Well, it's just a video game" He said. Forgetting that everyone had seen the photo's of his gurning mug hanging out with his developer buddies at just about every "real life" Vanguard/SOE event.

No he would prolly find the next failed MMO. I mean his track record so far is SWG and Vanguard. I'm sure hes played more but those are the two he goes on and on about.

No, I wouldn't Trust me on this.
I play a bunch of games online, and alternate between them. I play a lot of stuff on the PS3. Heck, I'm even playing SWG again a couple times a week for pvp just for the hell of it. /shrug
"the next failed mmo", rofl... yeh like the ones all of you were going on about as the next big thing? Kay. Cause you know, the ones that have come out in the past year or so have been stellar hits. Conan, WAR, Champions, to name a few real winners. Or how 'bout Aion, another amazing piece of crap - WoW + Lineage 2, yeh, sign me right up.
@ Dabble, lollers. SOE paid my way to some dev conferences and summits because I was part of the Influencer program - boo hoo? Free trips to SD and Vegas, yeh I'm sure you'd pass that up on principal, ROFL.

So you've been a paid shill this whole time? Is that what an "Influencer" is? That explains so much.

I seem to remember you getting donations from the Vanguard forums for a trip or two? Selective memory? I guess I would pass up a trip on principal if I couldn't afford to get there by my own means and had to rely on charitable donations from other forum users.
All that effort for "just a game" heh.
@ Ash: On the payroll all this time, it really does explain a lot.

You are awful. Double awful. Conan and WAR have sold millions of copies. Vanguard sold 300,000 at most. Nice one you really shot yourself in the foot on that one. Champions Online isn't a bad game either it's different and offers more customization (as you would expect from a super hero game) than Vanguards "amazing" (even at the time it wasn't THAT good) face customization. Aion I never said a word about, however if you read a notice in the general gaming forum I did say it sucked. So if you class these games (AoC / WAR mainly) as failures what does that make Vanguard? both have far more subs and AoC even has an expansion on the way.
Joodah SoE paid your way to "SOME" dev conferences. That means you've paid for everyone of 'em but one. Nice going! I'm sure you've made Dabble soil his pants with envy
Anyway Joody get back to your SWG PvP. Lawl.

I was talking about the rise/fail of those games, not how many they've sold. /shrug

That's all I meant People waiting for the "next big thing" only to find...it wasn't. I know of entire guilds that jumped into those games with full force and have all left and closed up shop in those games, because there wasn't much there past the first month or two of excitement.
I never said VG was the best game ever, or that it was popular, or that it has millions of people playing, and that it wasn't a "failure" in that regard. VG and the games I mentioned above all have their core players that are having a good time. People still play UO and Horizons. Do they care if others think their game is the greatest or if anyone cares that they are playing a "failed" game? Not at all. People find fun where they find it, and knocking those people for doing so seems pretty petty imo.
Now I'm off to play some more Borderlands and Dragon Age, 2 games that definately are really good and fun to play.
