Default Have signed SV up on Rift Beta Guild List

Just to let you all know, Cindy called for guild listings today for possible inclusions in the Rift beta. I signed us up.

What is crucial now though is to make sure you are signed up for Rift and have an active account. To make it easier for Trion to gather guild members together if we are selected, I've been asking everyone to friend me. Please do so if you haven't. Also, if you can navigate the maze to sign up for the Silky Venom group on the Trion boards, please do so!

Keeping my fingers crossed. I think this could be a lot of fun to do as a guild!

Lovi

PS: If you know any SV'ers who are interested in playing Rift but haven't been coming here to the boards regularly, pass the word along ok?

We have 5 SVers that have not accepted the group invite on the Trion boards. Anyone else that isn't a part of that group that wants in send a PM to Glipkerio on the Rift Boards.

Lovi/Glip

Managed to figure out how to find the SV group (and get my SV forum password back - for some reason it was only giving me 1 chance before locking me out). Already friended Lovi awhile ago on the Trion boards. I'm actually buying a new laptop because my old one is 98% dead (dreaded Dell Laptop MB power connection of Death(tm)) - and I won't get it until Mid-Oct (Dell lead times & etc) so if the beta starts before then I won't be able to start until it arrives).

Hopefully I'll see you soon!!

Edit: Glip you should have email on riftboards from Rollen and myself (Rollen's interested in coming back for Rift as well)

Default Make sure to 'opt in' on your rift account

As noted in the thread Glip linked on the SV group on the rift site Abigale has posted that we need to make sure we have opted in to receive messages from Trion.

As I posted I'm not clear if that means the optin under My Account (under email settings - accept offers from trion) or the optin under my Profile (forum page my profile - general settings - accept emails from administrators).

I think it is the latter (accept emails from adminstrators) because the implication is any message is going to your Trion forum account.

I asked a question about guilds - and it appears there are two pools.

Solo pool - testing for things other than raids.
Guild pool - testing for raids.

The downside is the solo pool - unless you have a VIP pass - is one-shot for the closed beta.
No clue on the guild pool. Or if there is an equivalent to a VIP pass for a guild.

Anyway - Trion is certainly keeping it interesting ;-) I do think this shows some confidence in their product - using the beta process to maximize the number of players who have played some form of the game.

Break a leg everyone!

I will be attending the New York Comic Con this Saturday, to check out 38 Studios booth. Trion will supposedly have a booth there too. Maybe I can beg a VIP pass =P

God speed Sir!

Color me green with jealousy. Wish I could go there too - but on the wrong coast ;-) I'm pretty interested in the 38 Studios MMO too. It won't be testing or released until late 2011 or 2012 - so if Rifts is too wow-like 38Studios is the only other option I am aware of that is coming out 'soon'.

I know that SOE is working on EQ3 but from what I understand that's not out until 2013 at the earliest (could be wrong). And there is another AAA+ being developed out in DC (the one Jerrith is working on) but that seems even further out than EQ3.

Has Jerrith moved to yet another company? Last I heard he was in Maryland.

Sorry. That's what I meant. I knew it was near D.C.

Edit: Now I can't figure out what he was working on. I was pretty sure it was a well known developer or at least well-funded developer.
