Default Buying a Pre-Built

I plan on buying a decent pre-built gaming desktop this summer. I know all the arguments as to why I should build my own, but in the end, I am not comfortable doing it and would rather get a pre-built. My current computer is about three years old. It's an iBUYPOWER pre-built that I got from Costco and it has served me well, but it's starting to show its age.

I was looking at desktops on Newegg and Costco today. One of the better ones seems to be this iBUYPOWER from Costco. Would some of you mind checking out the specs and letting me know if it's a decent gaming computer? It looks good to me, but I'm an amateur. I'm also a little leery about switching to ATI after being an nvidia user for so long.

Looks a nice system to me, shame it's using the last gen i7 though and not SB, the 6950 is a solid card and despite the lunatic fanboy posts you'll find I'd recommend it over the 560 Ti, even though performance of the cards will be similar the extra gig of memory the 6950 holds will provide better performance at higher resolutions and AA.

I'd suggest checking other popular US PC retailers, perhaps even IBPs' own site as they have the fathers day promotions about, though

Yeah, I'm having second thoughts on that. I've been toying around with a customized pc builder on cyberpowerpc.com and can build a better one for around the same price. I'll probably end up doing that.

May I revive this thread?

I, too, am looking to buy and am wondering if New Egg is the best place or if I should go looking elsewhere.

I have a budget between 1200 and 2000.

Any thoughts would be helpful!

Thanks!

Here's what I'm considering currently http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/C...y_8800_Pro_SE/
