Well, the truth is that it still comes down to the same thing. The one universal truth in this genre.

If the game's good, all will be forgiven. If not... well...

And this is exactly what it is. I bought a released game. They didn't get me a released game. It's an open and shut case.

I can't see why some of you are so blinded by this. In anycase, that is the way it is and further banging my head against your stubborn walls won't change the fact that I'm right. Enjoy.

Can't buy a game that's not released. That being said, if you somehow managed to purchase something that was not for sale, doing so for the purpose of previewing it is silly.

You could not have bought a released game because the game is not released. What do you think the purchase agreement was? What did you think you were giving them money for? You did not expect and did not get anything handed back to you. If you were fine with that when you gave the money, why are you not fine with that now?

It's not being blinded, IMHO. It's the legalities of commerce. Think of every purchase you make as a small contract - something in exchange for money. You don't give money unless you agree to the deal. What was the deal that you agreed to? If the deal was "you give us X dollars and we will give you a game in the future plus invite you to what-we-define-as-beta" then they have lived up to their end of the deal.

That's exactly why I won't buy at release. I am going to let other people try it before I buy it.

I used to get all excited about MMO beta access or head starts and even pre-ordered games for that access, but I think that's all faded away as I've become much more jaded.
