Let me know what you think. Maybe this carebear might get one, too.
Happy early birthday!

Thanks.
The reviews are generally glowing but something like half of my gaming circle warned me off of it. But, now that I'm not paying for it, I will form my own opinions!

Oh, yeah, my birthday is on Monday so I flashed my beautiful eyelashes at my parents. I will have the Cyber MMO on Tuesday.

Did he just call someone a carebear AND mention his parents buying him gifts in the same sentence?

Yes, forgive me; it was a expression. What I should have said was in the same post. But the point still stands - you are one tough momma's boy.

Well, we knew that, but I thought perfect was a little bit more ... perfect.
Besides, you don't dismiss trackball users as carebears in a post filled with PvP machismo and then look to your parents for gifts, thus creating a dichotomy that begs to be mocked.

I just think you aren't woman enough to go head-to-head against trackball users.
Sides, he's not a carebear cause he uses a trackball. He's a nQQb cause he uses a trackball. He's a carebear cause he loves his PvE.
I was impugning him because he said that I need a $10 mouse and to learn to play better.
While the latter is most probably true, I don't have to take it lying down. Unlike your mom.

Let's leave moms out of it, please. Isn't this a topic about mice?
I know it's all in good fun, but we're treading dangerously close to some folks possibly getting feathers ruffled, so let's give a little tug on the reins.
For anyone who's interested, this is the pointing device I've been using for more than 10 years -
Microsoft Trackball Explorer
It's shaped and sized perfectly for my hand, and I'm absolutely a wiz with it. I certainly can use mice, I use one at work all the time, but I'm so used to gaming with a trackball. I like being able to spin the ball rather than lift and place a mouse. Maybe I'm doing it wrong in terms of gaming...but has always worked great for me, even back in my heavy FPS days.

Hey, it's lasted more than a decade and still works just fine. Not bad quality, I'd say...whatever Chinese manufacturer built it did a good job.
I also generally prefer the feel of Microsoft keyboards... I'm using this one right now and for the last few years -
Keyboard
It makes it a little more tricky to hit higher numbers with my left hand while playing...but I can generally remap things so it works. It certainly is really nice for general typing, and you know I do plenty of that.

My friend has that mouse and it was pretty hopeless unfortunately. Not sure if he just got a bad one or didn't take care of it properly, or if it's just a sucky mouse.
The main issue was that the cursor would skip constantly. It made playing a FPS almost impossible. I was never sure if it was because he was using it on a polished wooden desk, or if maybe he has other devices interfering with the wireless signal maybe. But he said he tried to fix it many times and never could so he ended up selling it and buying a Razer mouse instead.
Around the same time I bought the Logitech g5 which was really good, but the mouse wheel was incredibly stiff and eventually it used to skip too far when you clicked it up or down. For browsing the web it wasn't an issue, but in games when each click selected a new weapon or something, you would end up constantly skipping past what you wanted. Luckily it was still within its warranty and when I complained to Logitech they said it was no longer sold but they could send me a G500 as replacement. And luckily this has worked out great ever since
