Many of you have been asking about when we will have our second Beta Weekend Event. As we are approaching a long weekend in many parts of the world, we understand that some of you want to make plans for that. To help you with that we can confirm that we will NOT be running BWE2 this coming weekend.

Our BWE1 was super successful, we exceeded our expectations. As some of you might have experienced first hand, this lead to some technical issues. To make sure we are not running into the same situation for BWE2, we recently had a stress test, and we are currently deploying a lot of additional hardware in our datacenters.

We will be able to tell you exactly when BWE2 will take place as soon as all the hardware has been deployed. We are not withholding a date intentionally, we want to make sure that BWE2 will be a really great experience for all of you.

I hope this helps a bit in understanding where we are standing – you all have a really relaxing long weekend!

Translation: We told you once a month and we need to save the next one for June.

To be fair, they never said 'we will have one every month'. And they didn't have a BWE in May.

Correct, but they did have a beta event this month, and many customers were expecting a beta event once a month until release. Why have another beta event this month when they have all ready had a beta event this month?

They did have a statement prior to the stress test saying that it was not considered a BWE.

They didn't have a Beta Event this month. They had a Beta Weekend on April 27, 28, and 29. They had a Stress Test on May 5, but they were very careful and stated many times that it was not to be considered a Beta Event.

Syntax. It was an event during beta. My point is that ArenaNet DID give purchasers a chance to dive back into Tyria this month. I know that ArenaNet did not "promise" to have an event each month, but it's a positive thing that so far they are living up to some people's impression of one beta event a month.

Most people did not have the impression that there would be an event every month...because most people can read. ArenaNet clearly stated it was a rough schedule and subject to change based on their needs. People who took that statement and somehow turned it into, "once a month we will have a beta event" have serious reality issues.

ArenaNet clearly makes a distinction between stress tests and beta weekend events. When they started their pre-purchase program, they advertised that the pre-purchase would give access to ALL BETA WEEKEND EVENTS. Shortly after that, they had a stress test to which pre-purchasers did not have access. The fact that they didn't give access to all pre-purchasers to the first stress test means they see them as totally separate things...and stress tests are not part of the BWE schedule.

Yes, because in the gaming community, there is never any misunderstandings by a large part of the community and players never want what they want. You can dismiss it, but the fact is that some purchasers thought there was going to be an event each month.

Humorously, I am saying that ArenaNet is being wise in stretching out access to the game to try to appease as many customers as possible, and you guys are saying that, no, it cannot be portrayed as meeting some customers' expectations.
