In WA state there has been a big push for intersection cameras that catch speeders, red-light runners, etc. and then mail out tickets, but over the last couple years there have been several court cases that deemed the traffic cameras tickets to be illegal and several cities have had to stop issuing tickets with them. I think they are primarily used as evidence in crashes and things now as opposed to issuing tickets.
In Los Angeles, the city is dropping intersection cameras. They have even completely removed them from my town.
Yeah I don't like all the spying and hoarding of our private information. But the main reason I dislike Facebook and Twitter is because it's all just so inane. I think it's nice if you can follow some intellectual who makes really interesting posts regularly, but that's about 1% of twitter and FB. To have every average joe and all the stupid modern celebrities who are famous just for being famous, posting that they bought some new shoes or something... BLEH!
That's why I preferred the 'old' way of blogs and websites. If what you have to say is not intersting enough to make a website for it, then keep it to yourself! :P
My friend has been in Beta and hes on the West coast and thats his server,but I have no idea if that has anything to do with timezone. It is only beta so not like it matters to much I'm sure any server will be packed.
