All kinds of legit people get banned here. They should re-name this joint to 'The Echo Chamber'.

So, six months after launch, how is GW2 going?

I remember Fozzik's final words on the Last Bastion from May 2012:

There’s no doubt I’ll be writing more about this [GW2] game…and I don’t think there’s much doubt left that I’ll be playing it for a long time. I’ll see you there.
Nothing posted on the topic since then, on his site or SV. Strange, but i have heard almost nothing about GW2 in the gaming community.

I never played guild wars 2 myself but apparently it didn't do to well since many of the people I used to be guilded with on EverQuest's Vulak'Aerr server have been creeping back to EQ after being dissatisfied with Guild Wars 2.

As to people disappearing from these boards? It has nothing to Loampounder. I haven't been checking in on these forums much since the only MPOG I've played over the last 2 years was EverQuest on the progression server.

And how was it there, Arctic? I did start out at the very beginning, but fell off for reasons I can't currently remember. Perhaps another new thread on this topic would be of interest.

The servers are currently to Depths of Darkhollow with a max level of 70. Right now it's pretty dead on Vulak'Aerr; Fippy Darkpaw still has a healthy population but I haven't bothered to reroll there since my work schedule keeps me from playing at prime times. On Vulak'Aerr I was in an Asian guild and we did pretty well for quite awhile. We beat Scars of Velious and Shadows of Luclin and were working on Planar Progression until Diablo 3 release at which point half of guild quit. We were just a few encounters away from being elemental flagged it was so sad. People are hoping they'll merge the servers soon but people have been hoping that for like 10 months now so most are not too hopeful it well happen.

So yeah I actually took like a 6 month break from the server and started playing again in January and posted a message in the old guild forums about maybe restarting the guild. We have been doing some casual quests and did a few mini raids but never really had a critical mass of people to really get raiding again. Guild seems to be winding down again with just 4-5 of us that still play. Trying to keep the Taiwanese players interested in playing on EverQuest server that requires a gold subscription is proving harder than I had hoped.

In recent weeks I've been looking at Vanguard again. I quit that game back in 2009 because of Livegamer and promised I would not play again until it was removed. Since LiveGamer has been removed I've been trying to learn/relearn as much about the game as possible. I'm really, really pissed at what they did with the starting towns and hoping that the players can convince them of a change of heart but overall I think Vanguard might have a place for me again soon.

Depending on how things go with my guild on EverQuest I might try and see if they would be interested in playing Vanguard instead. They seemed to like the Pre-pop, McQuaidian era of EverQuest and would probably enjoy Vanguard as well. Since the game never had an official Asian release none of them have even heard of the game so they have no knowledge of how bad the release was. With the game being Free to Play I think a lot of them would probably at least try the game if they knew about it.

Thanks for the update. I've also started playing Vanguard again and have been having a blast. I typically only play solo or with my brother (I usually log on from 12 - 2:30/3:00 AM EST), so I'm up for perhaps getting involved with a new guild or a resurrection of an older one (ahem, Silky Venom???)?

What say you all?

I'll give you a guild invite to SV if you're on. Seems only just since you've been on this site forever.

I'd love that! Just let me know who to contact in game.

Look for Surface (Silky Venom) - I should be online this weekend a bit towards evening PST, might be playing an alt as well Sur Tek. When are you usually on during the weekends?

Tough to say this weekend, but I'll be on the lookout with either Lonestryder or Guccio. My typical play time on weekends ranges from 23:00 - 03:00 EST.

Thanks, Bro!
