Eh, what you talking about Willis? There's more people due to FTP, but FTP is somewhat crippled for long term play, the PTP game has improved due to the increase in numbers but still far less than say at release. Not sure where you're getting game is in 'worse state than it was 4 months ago' from what I wrote.

You mean the lag, the disconnects, the chunky graphics, the rubberbanding, the redundant gameplay and the clunky UI are par for the course? I presumed that was all new cause of the F2P rules. Like too many people in there for most of the technical issues.

If that's normal, why would you ever have subbed for it after the initial release? I mean, it hasn't gotten any better (technically) over the last five years.

Perfect is this really you? Or has your account been taken over by aliens?

I returned back in March but was unable to play due to my computer. It kept crashing/blue screening/overheating/etc. I tried again as soon as FTP was released and just frustrated myself more.

I fixed up a laptop of mine that can run it better and played FTP for a week with no problems. I ended up falling in love with the game again. I even renewed my subscription and can see myself sticking with it for a while.

I've not run into many people while on solo adventures but the /ooc chats are populated. There seem to be very few near my level; I think they're mostly low-level FTP members.

I'm really hoping that the official VG forums or Silky Venom's pick up again. I have to work during the days, but I still like to browse information and chat up about the game when I have free time (like now). They're all dead.

I tried to play back at release, but there was just no way with the computer I had back then. Still, I liked what little I could see of Vanguard and when I heard it was going F2P I had to give it another try.

I have to say I'm enjoying it. Vanguard, not surprisingly, feels like EQ1 used to, before they made it all about raiding and dumped a dozen mediocre expansions on it.

I'm trying a bunch of different classes and generally trying to figure things out as I go along. So far it's been a lot of fun.

I returned for a very brief half an hour. I figured I'd have a look at the graphics, to my surprise five years after the game launches I was able to remain at 60 fps with everything turned up.

I'd forgotten how great the game actually looked, I find its art style charming. I had a quick run through my favourite place in the entire world, the gnome tunnels (You know the ones, near Kehmi (sp), they make you run like you're on speed)

Well after doing a quest or two I thought I'd log off. Then I returned to London and won't even dare try it on this laptop. I might stick around with Vanguard for a while as a FTP member. Who knows perhaps I'll even spend money on a subscription at some point.

I'll say this: It's better than I remember it being.
