What would be the best choice here you think? I was thinking that I could go cleric or shaman primarily, for healing support. However, I know little about either class having played mostly a dread knight and blood mage.

Well really any one of those could be good. I would say go bear shaman for the powerful buffs that you can give the bard. But anything really goes, right now I am duoing with a bard and I am a bloodmage, everything seems to go quite well.

I duo with a bard (am a BMG) on a regular basis and it works fantastic. However, I don't really think there is a healer class that doesn't complement a bard. They adapt very well to whatever playstyle you choose be it caster or melee. Find the class you enjoy playing the most and stick with it.
