Need to vent volcano sounds like a good place too.
Vanguard has already pissed me off, more like SOE. I pay the 50 bucks or whatever to download the game. Yet it gave me no instructions how to do so. So I go and find the files from the support knowledge base. Spend hours downloading them only to have all 4 cab files corrupted. So I get a catastrophic error. Then I find I can use launchpad to download it so I go ahead and do that. But then it tells me I am not subscribed to the game. So I do that to spend another 15 bucks. Basically what I am trying to figure out is what the original 50 dollars is for? Seems the answer is a lack of service and to get used to Sony’s cock in my ass.
Launchpad is still downloading the game and probably will be for the next year or two, hopefully when it is done it will actually work.
If not my head will simply explode. >_<

I think the 15 bucks will be charged after the 1st month?
Did you check if there is a FAQ or similar about billing?
Don't know if it's a good suggestion to ask customer support (it's a Sony) - but maybe you are lucky.
(I personally bought a box at Amazon.)

first, I wouldn't be pissed at vanguard for that. the creators have nothing to do with a crappy download. and second, even though you get 1 free month of play, you still have to enter your payment information so they can start billing you after your free month.

Read the post I changed it to SOE and I have played games that didn't require you to have a card on record.

Aye. I've done UO, EQ, DAoC, CoH, MxO, EQ2, WoW, and EVE. All needed CC info up front. I suppose there might be others like AO and PSO that didn't, but, <shrug> those that do not are not in the majority by any means.
