This poll is a direct response to a post in another thread about "Stop Refering to EQ" or some such nonsense.

Anyway, there was a post by Arclan that suggested:

Heeh, well I think most retired-EQ players (like myself) think most VG players are also retired-EQ players. It's a chance to reminisce about the good ole days and point out how Brad and his buddies have grown with and improved the genre. Now, I'm curious what % of VG players are indeed old EQ players. Can I get a show of hands?

Well, this screamed of needing a poll to me. So I figured I'd start one (if I can figure out how, never done a poll thread before).

So... Did play EQ1 in the past (or still play)? If so, how long?

Yep. Played it a lot. Almost seven years. Loved it.

I played from a few months after launch (when a friend finally convinced me to try it) until EQ2 launched.

Back in my highschool days I saw a friend of a friend playing it, I think was was playing a mid 20's or 30's SK... I don't remember too well it wasn't the clearest times of my days. I saw him running around outside then he ported into some Dungeon, I thought that was a cool trick, Then I saw him attack a troll looking monster.

I was used to Final Fantasy X type animation, and Virtua Fighter type animation, and when I saw him swing the sword in about 2 animations I almost died laughing. WTH? why is he moving so stiff? I asked him.

Eventually the idea grew on me, but I still never played it. It led me to Play EQOA (laugh all you want, it was a good game.) And i have been on Vanguard since EQOA.
