This is on the Thunderaxe server. This player was sending Ingame mail with the Gold Selling info. This was done on February 25, 2007 2:40pm CDT, WTG Sigil and GM's

It's great that they announce things like this. People need to see a resultant to their petitions and people need to know that Sigil is taking action against gold sellers. Now, they need to be more vocal about it.

And your ingame name is Snuggles?

While being a strange and non-warrior-like, I cannot see how that name can get a person banned. Even the name is not against policy.

Snuggle is a fabric softer bear. He won't get banned but maybe a name change.

Since Sigil is not selling fabric softener nor is the name unique enough to be covered over all of society, I really doubt they would change it.

The naming policy doesn't allow for any trademarked names, no matter if it's the same industry or not. Although I seriously doubt that Snuggles would require a change.

Normal names are allowed. There are nine Winstons on VGplayers right now. I have no idea why Winston Churchill is still allowed, though.

Its fun when one of the gold sellers throw away spam accounts gets banned, but what would be really good is to see some of the gold holding accounts go down.
That would really hit these people where it hurts!

There's also a Harry on every server, several of which are variations of Potter, just like like the example they use in the rule.

Well I have played EQ1 for 7 years and EQ 2 going on 3 years, I played SWG 2 years and played WoW for 1 year and I never had my name changed. Yes snuggle is a name of a fabric softner bear, but I did not get my name from that fabric softner, my name is Snuggles.

I love that the CS team is being very proactive about keeping the farming to a minimum...but the server-wide announcements always make a little voice in the back of my head say:

"Self, have they responded to any of your petitions yet?"

To which I must always reply:

"No self, alas, they have not."

I'm all for reveling in victory,but they need to stop patting themselves on the back and keep both hands on the keyboard, given the amount of other work that needs to be done.

Pointing out obvious successes does not make obvious flaws go away.
