I've been looking for a while, but can someone explain to me the differances?

On Team PvP it's basically evil vs good from what I understand. similar to WoW's Horde vs Alliance. but for FFA is it that anyone can just attack anyone else at any time? and since there are no allegiances does that mean that you can group with Dark Elves if you are Kojani, or opposing "sides" can group together?

Yes exactly, as there arent any "opposing" sides...the concept of opposing sides does not apply in FFA...its in reality all together and each for its own.
