Original, Signed Vanguard Concept Art Print Auction, to Aid Hurricane Victims
We here at Silky Venom are proud to announce the auctioning of a one of a kind print of Vanguard concept art, signed by the artist Christian Piccolo. It is a beautiful, full color drawing of a tower from the continent of Qalia.
All of the money raised from this auction will be donated to the American Red Cross, Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund.
You can view the auction here...
We are hosting it through eBay and Mission Fish, an eBay account is required to bid, and a PayPal account to pay.
Good luck and thank you to all bidders!
Stay tuned, as we will have more opportunities to raise money for the disaster relief effort, as well as chances for everyone to win a piece of Vanguard: Saga of Heroes Concept art.

Very nice. I made a bid but I am sure I will be outbid. It's a lovely drawing though. Mmm, I just cancelled 2 preorders for the Depths of Darkhollow EQ expansion, maybe I'll throw that in the mix too.

Just to add a little history to the art, so that folks can know what it is and where it came from. A while back, just after Silky Venom became an affiliate fansite, Sigil wanted to thank us for keeping up fun sites. They sent each owner two different professional prints (they were digitally colored, so they are as original as it gets), matted and signed by the artist that did them.
Cindy Bowens shipped the one above to me personally to my house, and it is currently sitting safely in my living room waiting for the winner. We were wondering the best way to get these pieces of Vanguard fanboy status to the public when the hurricane hit. Elrar came up with the idea and ran with it.
So, you can be sure that the item is the auction is legit and has a special meaning in the Vanguard community.

Superfundraiser....
If you guys really want to see the cash role in you should ask Sigil for 10 BETA 0 or 1 slots to auction.... I'd bet they'd go for $500+ a piece.

I bet you're right
The problem is though, that Sigil would have absolutely no control over who got into beta. It's one thing to give out some free beta slots. It's another altogether to sell them with an expectation of service. Even if a person (or people) who bought the beta accounts were complete jerks, and uncooperative in actually testing, Sigil might be limited in their ability to remove them if those people paid for the beta slots.

That is really nice of you all over there. I wouldnt mind getting into the act, but since i have been outbid, i cant go any higher.
Maybe we can submit apps, and then have the devs call us to see if we would donate for beta =)
I would surely be game.

The bidding price skyrocketed quite a bit during the last minute.
Congratulations to the winner!

I guess I was too hurry too bad... I need to improve my self control

I'm actually fairly disappointed. But maybe my expectations were too high. I would have bid a lot (a LOT) more for that print myself had I known it was going to end at the price it did. Ah well.
The great thing is that someone got a fine piece of original art and contributed to a good cause. Congratulations to whoever the winner is! =)

yes, but that the trick of this type of bid on ebay. We are almost all waiting for the last moment to bid... and actually, there wasn't so many people involved.
I think it's not so bad...

Grats on the gesture and for the winner.
Best thing to remember when bidding on something on EBAY is to look at the item you want, Research a fair price. decide in your mind what your willing to pay. Bid that amount and then... walk away until the auction is over. All the time your waiting, you should assume if you win it will be for the maximum price you set. If you get it below that...your happy, if not, then you know you didn't overspend.

Too bad you can't find out who the winner is. It would certainly be worth a headline story!
