Anyone care to explain in detail about this?

Hmm, well what I know so far is.

Monsters around Wardship can drop the rare armor pieces...they contain 3 ritual words.

you need to find candles/runes and i think books? one of each matching each word.

then you get a catalyst to combine them.

candles are just as rare as the armor...runes appear to be even more rare as you need them to drop off a named or rare spawn.

books havent gotten yet so not sure where.

also heard a rumor there is 3 tiers of faction, each teir reached being better armor made ...not sure the exact tiers but first is 4k not sure on the other 2.

anyways thats what i know, its sketchy...perhaps others can add to it.

ok here is what i know from beta some faction levels and rarity may have changed since going live but the basics should still be the same

1. faction. Celestine ward faction is required for this whole quest line. you can get faction several ways. Quests Mob slaying and a repeatable kill mob quest avail in Wardship. Your level of faction will determine which quests are available to you and which armor you can complete **again this is beta information so lvls may have changed** at or around 2500 faction you will start seeing alternative faction quests at or around 4000 faction you should be able to obtain first catalyst at or around 6500 you should be able to get second catalyst at or around 11000 faction you should be able to get final catalyst. your lvl of faction will determine which quests are available to you and some are multi stage quests.

2. armor. Any mob that grants +celestine ward faction has the chance to drop either armor or candles. armor can be any type or piece off of any mob that grants faction so you can get a bp off a lower mob just like you can get a boot however the drop rates for the bigger pieces are reduced chests leggs and hats i think are the rarest.

Each armor piece will have 3 words on it the words will correspond to the candle book and rune necessary to make each item the catalyst will tell you which pieces it will go along with.

armor pieces are class specific and no drop so collecting other pieces that you can't personally use aren't going to do you much good tho they are vendor sellable at about 1.5s a piece. Clerics since we can wear so many diff types of armor plate scale chain the only one i know that works is plate i never made scale or chain in beta but the plate will be cleric specific plate and was generally much nicer than infineum plate or scale (tho the new plate for cleric in infineum is very nice i'll try to log into test and compare to what Luan's is)

3 candles there are several types of candles and they can be found on any mob that has + celestine ward faction however we did find that where you fight has a direct bearing on which candles were droping. so the rarer candles are in higher area's like Vol and Thesssaleen dungeons. **bonus** candles are tradeable so you can trade for what you need or collect for friends and guildmates

4 runes. Runes are found on named mobs only and again the higher the mob and the place the mob is located will have a direct bearing on which runes he will drop. CURSE YOU DELSO rune for dropping on everything. --side note-- runes may also be turned in for faction at the same guy who gives you catalysts be very carefull i've had a few friends think they were getting armor so they gave up their runes and got nothing but faction.. Runes are not tradeable so other than faction and to make armor there is no need to get more than you personally need

5. Books. Books are scattered all over what is called the Marsh of Peril the 3 or 4 chunks south of wardship they are very small very hard to see and generally located around ruins or inside dungeons. agian where you are has a direct relationship to which book will happen to be there the easier it is to get that book the less likely it will be a high level book. Books show up as ! activateable sometimes they will glow slightly to call attention to themselves but we were unable to identify why sometimes they glow and sometimes not. books are not tradeable and once you activate them the book is yours and if its not something you can use there is pretty much nothing you can do about it =( (Dev's can we get tradeable on this or maybe faction like the runes )

6. Catalysts. Catalysts are avail from an NPC in wardship of the sleeping moon depending on your faction level will be which catalysts are available to you there are 3 types. catalysts are non tradeable and are free as long as you have faction enough to get them.

7 the ritual. to actually make the armor ((NOTE THIS PART MAY HAVE CHANGED)) in Thessaleen not far from the lair of the drake riders is a glowing ball with a spear of light shooting to the heavens guarded by 3 Constructs. Kill the constructs and if you have all pieces neccessary for a piece of armor it will give you a ! activatable. Activate the orb and enjoy your new class specific armor.

Hope this helps if anyone has done recently and wishes to fill in any changes that have been made feel free

depends on which runes your looking for
tier 1 runes are all over the place several overland camps with minor named in them in wardship vol and Thessaleen

teir 2 and 3 runes are going to be found most often in Lair of the drakeriders on named or in Ruins of Vol Tuniel off the named there.

Runes are supposed to be guaranteed off named now but they haven't been that i have found.

Just to correct a small portion of this. Runes are guaranteed to drop off named that has them on their loot table. This is the case. Not all named actually drop runes, but the ones that do, do so 100% of the time, and it is working correctly.

Hmm...never NOT had a rune from any of the normal named mobs. I have seen a few named in there very rarely that don't drop runes, but then again they never did for us. Interesting to hear that.

I can say, that I am more than happy I am past those levels so I can hit the new stuff right away. The Wardship bs faction grind was a crappy way to make players feel like they had content. Good luck aquiring the rest of your runes.

Default Spawn location of Books

I have only found 1 book spawn. If anyone knows of spawn locations could you please post, running around the swamp looking for books is not fun at all.

Book i found was on a raised rune in a camp of frogs. There is a sword on a platform next to it that you can click for 160 extra faction. I guess every little bit helps. It is a tier 1 book, "Delso"

-78880,-17000 Ruins of Vol, in ruins up stairs to the right. Book was a "Soom"

the problem is the books are not always up
just about every ruin are has a book there you just have to go there when a book is up and notice it. some people are better about noticing them then other hunt in packs. cause i swear most of the time i never see them until someone else says stop we are passing a book.

the easiest books i know to find are down at the southern corner of thessaleen is a tower there is a book there. and to the left and right of Lair of the drake riders there are ruins there is a book on each side of it. but again books are not always up so you still end up running around looking. you will probably find more in the dungeon areas you just have to be observant.

You can tell what kind of tome it is before picking it up. Just mouse over it. They are also very easy to see, there's a beam of light overtop of them.

this sounds like the rewards will be outleveled by the time you actually get all the stuff. has anyone been able to succesfully put all their pieces together without them becoming obsolete by that time?

no not really. right now the problem isn't with books or runes or armor. Those are pretty reasonable, its with the higher lvl candles. invariably all the mobs in both thesselon and VT have the drop chance with candle with gets kinda annoying when you grind mobs for 20-30 hours and get 30-40 t1 candles and no t3 candles. Doesn't matter if you are killing lvl 27 mobs or lvl 40 4/5/6 dot mobs. In fact the lvl 40 6 dot mobs don't drop anything.

I got all candles before even touching Thelaseen and VT, unfortunately dont remember the exact spot for each candle. (someone should start a list, like Ixi and Vii drops at the humanoid camp right at east of wardship and next humanoid camp at south lvl 34/36/3 drops different ones..)

Currently i have everything except Qel books and Eltha rune both i imagine can only be found inside VT since is the only place i didnt touch. Wait i lied, we went there once, pulled a mob from X room to Z, but mob decided to instead comming directly to us, to visit A B C rooms and bring the whole dungeon towards us.

If anyone want info about runes i can give all locations except Eltha, same for books except Qel (anyone know if this book can be found in diff place besides VT ?)

candles are random drops. I've gotten over time plenty of candles to drop, I just seem to be bugged for getting kel candles to drop. Nothing like having a lvl 39 5 dot drop an ixi candle everyone already has 10 of.

you have to be carefull with doors/entrances in VT. Beyond that it works fine.

Eltha will drop from lvl 37+ bosses in VT. The vast majority of these bosses are only found in the vi'rek portion of VT. Caution though, all the mobs in the vi'rek are 37+ with lots of 39 5 dots and 40 6 dot roamers that don't drop anything. There are up to 8 bosses in the vi'rek area that drop eltha runes. Quel books are found deep in VT in and around the throne room.

I have just made a rough summary for my guildies upon a research and have decided to paste a copy here too. Maybe I should create a new thread for this when I have more details. Have fun.

----------------------------------------------------------------
*** RAISING FACTION ***
Quests will open up when you have enought faction. There are plenty of ways to raise your faction with the Celestial Ward:

* I have heard that evil races are given a faction cap of 11,900. Which means Darkelves may not be able to get the last quest or some armor parts. This is still unofficial.

1) Complete as many quests as you can find from

Wardship of the Sleeping Moon to raise faction points:
http://vg-en.curse-gaming.com/databa..._max=&chunk=75

Ruins of Vol Tuniel - Recondite Threshold
http://vg-en.curse-gaming.com/databa..._max=&chunk=88

2) Kill mobs around the areas which may give (1~4 for normal mobs, 20~ for named) faction point per kill.

3) There is an NPC ritualist standing in the corner, outside a house to north of the broker. If you have a rune in your beg, talking to him will allow you to exchnage the rune for faction points. (Delso gave 100 faction)
* Runes will be discarded from your bag if you do so.

*** RECOMMENDED QUESTS ***
[Wardsheep of the Sleeping Moon]
Ending the Drake Rider Reign (around 8K faction required)
http://vg-en.curse-gaming.com/databa...e-rider-reign/

Ancient Weapons of Leth Vereal (around 13,900 faction required)
http://vg-en.curse-gaming.com/databa...f-leth-verael/

[Recondite Threshold]
Chained quest, after "The Rewakening of Vol Tuniel."
http://vg-en.curse-gaming.com/databa...of-vol-tuniel/
* There is no data about this quest in the above site yet. The reward is an axe version of "Axe of Portents" which is similar to the "Sword of Portents" obtainable from the "Ending the Drake Rider Reign" quest.

(Axe of Portents: http://vg-en.curse-gaming.com/databa...=&s=&st=1&sv=0)

[How to combine them]
1) Fulfill the above requirements (catalyst = faction, runes, parts, tome, candles)
2) Bring all of them to the location a little South West of Thelaseen where surrounded by walls, with a huge glowing globe protected by 3 golems.
3) Kill all the golems or pull them off to make the globe clickable ("!"). Click it and receive your completed armor part. ]

As an FYI, it doesn't appear that the set bonus for the armor is working atm. Having the complete set should activate the 0(###) stats but doesn't atm. Kinda depressing when I completed the Lluain set.

that is missing the leggings, just wanted to point it out, they are heroic as well. But very nice guide.

There is supposed to be a set bonus? I was hoping so but never knew for sure. I have 6/9 made. All though being druid mine are screwed up anyway.
