Anyone else dissapointed with this questline? First, there is this huge faction grind, second the massive farm fest required to collect the necessary comps to forge the armor....assuming you can get the pieces you want. To make matters worst there isn't any interesting rewards at the begining or midway of the questline. So bacsically its all or nothing, either you see the questline through and get your bp forged and get the final weapon reward, or you just wasted a ton of time.

Well, at least they are FOC and the BP, shoulder, leggins are better than player crafted T5s. :P

The factions required for catalyst listed on this post are wrong.

Tier 1 - 2k Full
Tier 2 - 5k Full
Tier 3 - ???

Above 12k is not an option. it is anywhere from 8-11k I will soon know and post here. If someone else is there already then please post.

More then likely Moomoo was observing his Dynamic faction rather then full. So assuming he was doing this, and that he is not a race with starting -8k then we can subtract 2k from his Tier 3 proposed faction. So 11k sounds right.

11000 for t3, I assume 11900 for final quest (as that would put evil races on 20000 dynamic) as it's getable when passing teh 14k dynamic for a goodie.

the jump from t2 to t3 is so crazy! I guess the items are well worth it, at least mine are from what I have seen. But since I hit 4k full the Blood grind for the 500+ faction is now 250

Does this get even lower at 8k or so?

I did notice that some of the 33+ quest rewards are high faction bonuses but not anything as good as the 100 kill repeatable. For those post 6k what do you do for faction?

do the quests for faction. There are a lot of simple kill quests in the swamp out of recondite, adn doing the thel and vt quests will yield you alot of faction because of getting 2-4 faction a kill plus extra for names.

FYI the rewarded weapons for the Lost Weapon quests have more words on them, which may need 2 sets of runes, tome, candles and a perfect catalyst to upgrade them.

I assume this is the upgraded version of the shield.

I cannot seem to find information on the Weapons that people keep speaking of, except for the fact that there ARE weapons like the armor. Also I have yet to see any weapon molds drop. Are these just really rare or is it a quest? Is there a Faq somewhere I can check out?

Updated way to combine weapon

FYI:
- Compared the Cleric rinforcement with a Lv46 Rare reinforcement (forgot name but have healing status,) at broker. The lv46 gear has slightly better status and higher AC of course.
- Compared the Cleric Heroeic armor to Lv45 Superior Sage's Cuirass of Hexes, of course, since its Heroeic vs Rare, Cleric heroeic armor has much higher AC but the stats are arguable. 5 so so stat boost vs 3 focused stat huge boost & time consumed vs high price. Your choice to decide if to do it.

I arrived in Ruins of Vol Tuniel at level 33. I am now a level 38 goblin shaman. I have yet to make one piece of the armor, or get one quest that upgraded any of my equipment slots.

First. The Faction Penalty which has been discussed in detail is the dumbest thing I have ever seen in any group oriented quest. It's one thing to penalize an evil race for doing a solo quest but in a group it doesn't make sense. When I have gained more faction than anyone in my group and am unable to get quests my wood elf friend got 3-4 days ago, this pisses me off. This means I get to go back and do the quests I helped him do when the mobs are grey. Thank you Sigil, great idea you have there.

Secondly. The final rewards are supposed to be the best thing you can get for along time. It is unfortunate I find the rewards for my class (Shaman) to be an absolute joke. Assuming I get the rare runes and candles and faction and medium armor legs and such I can get some legs which actually have less mana than the ones I was wearing when I first started factioning. Why am I doing this again?

The pieces are such sidegrades to random auction house equipment I have seen that my only motivation to keep going is the fact that maybe one day you will realize that if your going to make a quest line extremely time consuming that it might be a good idea to make the rewards have significantly better stats than auction house crafted and rare's. If you can't say, "Wow I will be significantly stronger with that gear than Sally Sue who leveled up doing 2 dot missives while I spent my time deep in a dungeon with a full group for night after night, getting pulls of 10+ 4dot level 35 mobs because someone pulled a mob too close to a wall and agro'd the entire upper floor of the terribly buggy zone that is RoVT then we have a problem."

If the devs leave this series as is, my advice to anyone thinking about doing this series (especially healers and people with mediocre sets), instead of farming faction go farm money, and make friends with a high end crafter.

You are indeed correct. After finishing the "Ancient Weapons of Leth Varael" Questline you are given the option to aquire a perfect catalyst. You do need 2 Sets of the most powerful runes, tomes and cadles in addition to the catalyst. And: 300 Motes of Ancient Power, which either drop of boss encounters in Thelaseen (As quest items, for everyone who finished the weapon quest) or by turning in spare armor pieces.

My group and me have spent hours upon hours in Vol Tuniel and Thelaseen, generally having a blast exploring and slowly acquiring armor items and weapons. The only gripe is the absolutely crappy pathing and areas where mobs shamelessly add through walls. Or the warping Lost Chaplains.

people arent releasing that info because we dont want the rare/hard to find books over run with 500 people.

Overrun? On Varking my group is the only one in VT every day. No one else in the area. Send me a private message. I could understand if it was a PvE server but I never see anyone on Varking.

The tomes from what I can see are random. You have to just stumble across it and get lucky. The same goes with armor pieces and runes. You just kill and pray.

My biggest gripe with the questline is the rarity of heavy armor drops. In my group of people who're doing the quest one psi and the shaman both have all the armor drops already. As the tank I've gotten 4 armor drops so far and have completed 3. So I have a ton of candles, runes and tomes saved up and ready to go but no plate drops so far.

My second biggest gripe is the faction required if you're evil. Our druid is vulmane and he's gotten the faction to get the 2nd catalyst and he had to work his ass off to get there.
