I've seen this happen to 3 different characters on 3 different accounts over the past couple days.

When we ended a couple hour playing session, we logged out in relatively safe spots (such as the Beacon of Hafeez) by using /camp to exit to char select...then hit the "Quit" button. No problem, right?

When we logged in again, the character was standing exactly where it was when we camped, in full gear, able to cast spells and such but unable to move. The "You have died" window was up and the only option was to hit the "Release Spirit" button and warp to the nearest altar.

Upon landing at the altar, the characters were still in full gear and there was no tombstone. There did not appear to be any XP loss, which is good, though I'm not convinced it COULDN'T happen as a result of this bug.

Anyone else experience this, know what causes it, or know whether the devs are aware of it?

It has happened to my wife and i both. We didn't lose EXP tho, so I guess it's just a silly bug.

The same thing has happened to me a few times, and to my girlfriend. As far as I could tell there was no loss in experience, but it was rather annoying to have to release to an alter and travel back. You can't be revived either; they will receive an "Invalid Target" message.

I've /bugged this issue in-game.

Happened all weekend to guildmates....finally had it happen once to me on sunday, and again last night.

Last night we were at the top of CIS when it happened to me Found a way around it if in a dungeon type area. Have group back away from aggro range of you, and have an FD puller train you...pop a couple spells to get them to attack you, and boom, real death. BUT you dont lose XP since your already dead, and can get rezzed right back inside the dungeon area.

But ya, this bug is about one of the worst ones to crop up recently :P

Been happening to me alot too on login.

Only alternative is have someone PK you then get ressed.

This happens 90% of the time on the FFA PVP server but fortunately we can kill ourselves and just get revived via PVP death, it's like every time I log on I can expect to get a free ride to the altar if I'm solo

p.s. this all happened when they allowed you to stay dead while chunking, before that patch this never happened. also this allows you to die while chunking, not lose xp, get ressed and get all your xp back which is a terrible exploit imho if abused. But don't try it cause sometimes you lose xp and get rezzed and get nothing back which is equally as bad but in the other direction.

I am pretty lucky as I have only had this happen twice to me. Was a little unsettling the first time. As I thought that I should have a Tombstone.

The Second time I was a little more aware. I double check my Exp. I have been writing it down when I log on and off.
