This game will become ever more popular if you continue to make it according to your ideals. If you try to please an audience that does not belong in Vanguard you will have 2 sets of unhappy customers rather than one.
I urge you to learn from Starwars: Galaxies and build the game as it was intended.
If you really have to add teleporting then so be it. Please try to make it as minimal as possible because it really goes against the current advantages this game offers.
This game has a niche right now and upcoming games are heading to a WoW style. If you keep improving this game in the right direction I believe the customer numbers will improve dramatically over time.
p.s. I can understand if a lack of cash flow forces your hand in these matters.

Sadly it is inevitable, I knew it would happen even before release. Well here we are just over a month into the game and we already have regular double xp weekends and talk of teleports to make travel easier. Those asking for the game to be made easier will always get the devs ear over those who like the vision as it was laid out to us when the game was in development. Yes I know that things said in development can't be written in stone but the fact is, for every one person on this board asking for easier travel and faster xp I have seen one ask for it stay as it is. So why then do we get double XP weekends 2 weekends in a row and talk of telporters.
There was a poll done on these forums asking whether players wanted double Adventuring xp, double crafting/diplomacy xp or neither, the vote for neither was more than the vote for x2 adventuring xp and more than the vote for double craft/dip xp. This is only a small representation of the playerbase its true but how do we know that that ratio may not actually also be representative of the whole playerbase. For all Sigil knows the majority of players might not want double xp!!
People that followed the development of this game bought it 'because' of things such as longer leveling times, meaningful travel so why do those of us who bought the game on the principles on which it was based always play 2nd fiddle to the WoW player who got bored with WoW and decides to give VG a try. Inevitably they then proceed to whine about how much of a time sink the game is. They are not the players Sigil should be listening to as they will not stick around long enough to matter. What sigil will do if they keep going down this route is start to lose the players who would commit to the game for years if it stayed true to its ideals. They will also never gain the players who followed VG through its development, eager for the game that VG promised to be, but have not bought it yet because it is unfinished. When it does get to a polished state they wont come because VG will be just another 'try and please all' non-discript EQ2 type MMOG
They have said that only a few teleports will be added and travel will still be meaningful, well if they are adding teleports after one month how many are there going to be in 1 year? Travel may be slow at the moment but so what, it should be slow at first, we have faster mounts and flying mounts to come, thats when travel should be easier. The answer isnt just to throw teleports in because some people are too impatient to spend time traveling or cant organise themselves. Life is full of people that need to be led by the hand, because left to their own devices they simply sit down and cry if something they want doesnt fall in their lap. What they are like in real life transmits to thier attitude in game and because they whine the loudest they always get the devs ear.
The vast majority of people enjoying VG with the slower xp and the meaningful travel are in game, but they never get heard because Sigil never tries to find out what the true masses want. I've said it before in another thread and I'll say it again. Implement an ingame poll and use that to assist you in your decision making and to gauge how your decisions are received
