Default UI Scaling

Anyway to scale down the UI size without changing resolution? My laptop can't go any higher, but I remember how WoW let you scale it down to 60% if you wanted. Is there anything similar here?

Nothing that works 100% across the board. You can experiment with commands such as /uiwinscale and the likes.

you move your mouse over the box you want to scale and type /uiwinscale .xx and it resizes the box.

i tried it but the problem i was having if when i would scale it down it would stay when i came back. i even saved the ui and tried loading it at startup, still didnt work.

I think you can do a /uisave [name], then a /uiload [name] when you log back in to get around this. I have not yet tested it though. After experiencing this problem last night, I searched around on the boards and that's what I found. I made hotkeys and saved my UI; tonight we will see if it loads again.

Just as a follow-up, my brilliant scheme apparently failed. This did not work for me at all. Sizes reverted, and /uiload didn't revert it.

There currently is no way to save it. I have several macros for this that I just hit every time I start the game to set my UI to the scale I like

A lot of patience is needed, especially if you crash during fights when you are in group deep in a dungeon, there is little time to resize the UI and I'm a psi and I'm already under pressure.
They should really do it that you can save dimensions along with positions, shouldn't be a big one, for sure priorities are others and more important, but still..

I believe they had a UI Scale option in the Preferences tab during Beta. It worked well aside from the fact the text wouldn't properly scale in the chat window. I think they took it out all together when they couldn't get it working. Hopefully it will be back one day.

Not yet =(
They still don't save.

The macros I use are both /uiwinscale #
# being the multiplier I want (1 is normal, 1.1 is 10% bigger, ect)

Just point at the UI object and press the macro.
