Default Level 25+ crafters, how do keep yourself motivated?

Hey all

Im about to stop crafting all togheter even though I don't want to. My motivation for crafting so far has been the joy of an email telling me a sold an item, helping my friends out with items thats needed or do special orders for someone that hasnt been able to find that special item he wants so bad.

However, since 21 the grind has started to get to me. Just standing still, looking at the exact same buttons/icons and pressing them over and over is killing the fun of actual crafting.

What im wondering is, how do you guys thats hit 25 as a crafter keep the motivation up to keep going? At these levels the xp is getting real slow and since 21 each item has 4 stages which makes for longer manufacturing times and more clicking for less xp.

I don't have much trouble with complications or anything, its just the tedium of WO after WO for very little return thats getting to me. Any tips is appreciated.

Being a Carpenter, all I have to do is sail around Kojan until I see those big ships crashed on the rocks. They're amazing. But then realization hits and I realize Kojan is broken, and all hope crashes and burns.

My main motivation was about the same... Kojan ships. I pushed myself to 21 to start the sloop and had it created at about level 28. Can't say it was 'fun' but it was a goal and I got to it. My next goal was to push to 31 to start the next ship and plan to have it completed around 38. I hit 31... hey guess what I can't get the ship with my 2K+ Kojan faction... oh wait a dev posted that Kojan crafting is dependant on the other two continents.... There goes my motivation. So my advice to you is to not bother with crafting anymore. Every MMO is the same anyhow and all the best items are dropped and crafted items just become twink builders.

Every time I want to give up, I add +5s to the next item I sell. Then I feel better and carry on crafting ....

I guess the motivation stops at different levels for everyone. You kept going still feeling it was fast and easy at 25, for me it isnt. I know it will ramp up even more at 30, 40 etc which is a big part for my lack of motivation to keep going. It wont get better the higher I get, it will just get worse and worse

Thanks for some input guys, seems im not the only one lacking motivation around here currently

As a lvl 30 carpenter, what's my motivation? Seeing all my friends and and I with sloops, which we do... Which means I'm done since I don't care about caravels. One boat is enough, and we all have 'em.

My motivations is I'm done crafting as a carpenter!!! No more WOs!!!!! Woohooo!!

Yeah im a lvl 26 weaponsmith(kojan no less ) and I would like to be able to do flawless weapons but its not looking to great as I have yet to get my
T3 upgrade and my taskmasters have stoped giving new WOs at lvl 24(thanks sigil you dicks).

But I have to say that when it comes to just trying to grind xp I think T3 is faster and ezer than T1&2. My motivation is contiuing to grind out grade A batchs hoping for my upgrade recipe thats all I have to hang on to at this point. With finding out that my continet is not realy a continet and just a big a$$ starter area its realy starting to wear on me.

Im a goblin having to grind city faction just so I can craft realy sux.

/agree

But then again if you were in Beta, you know Kojan got slammed in at the last minute. Kojan was AWOL for almost ALL of beta, and did not get the benefit of the attention of the content designers until a short month or 2 prior to launch.

Recall how Kojan was opened up? Just Martok at first and everything else was blocked off.

SO yea, its not suprising to me that Kojan tops out so fast. Just another one of those things that could not get done before launch.

Personally, I wish they would quit screwing around with class changes and focus on content publishing. Class balance is the devils playground and no good ever comes from messing with that stuff.

Give adventurers more to do, so they will become to busy to complain about class balance.

I was in beta, i was under the impression they would fix it, not simply give up on its content.

Yeah no kidin not that I mind havein to go to NT to craft but im only a lvl 12 rogue and I had to keep one of my guild mates up late just to help me get faction so I could get into the city alive. Also in NT my fps is so bad I take 2 steps and then I have to wait for my fps to come back up from 10. Standing still I only get like 20fps wich sux copared to the 35fps I was geting in Martok.

O yeah and now im going to have to move all of the crap from my bank to thresha.

Im also still kinda lost in that idk where im supose to get my T4 recipes from.

My motivation?

I'm a masochist.
If I abuse myself by crafting in VG, it only leaves mental scarring (and an occasional hole in the drywall next to my desk).
Punishing myself IRL leaves real scars.

tmi?

Motivation here is to build housing and boats. There are 3 of us working together to help each other get houses. Will be able to help Guildies as well so that is cool too. Boats are a secandary perk but it does provide some motivation.

I have to admit, at one point I upgraded my craft gear and thought "ya know, I can keep this older set for an alt..." YA RIGHT! Like I am ever going to start another crafter after this head banging on the desk experience...lol.
