No Risk Must Equate to No Reward.
Something needs to be done.
People play an MMO to adventure, to quest, to hunt and get loot to improve their character either by equipping or selling the items. The best items drop off of "boss" or "named" mobs and these encounters are set accordingly to be harder and requiring of more strategy than the simple " trash" or common mobs.
This coins the phrase Risk vs. Reward.
VGSoH has got a lot of decent named encounters floating throughout the realms for people to gear up towards killing and to enjoy at the approppriate level. But! Wait a minute - if a player outlevels the named mob and makes it of no challenge then they can still farm it ( farm as in note down the amount of time it takes to respawn into the world, and repeat kill it over and over again, thereby putting this mob on lockdown and unobtainable to other intended level people)
This is a Problem.
The Problem is simple. As more people level up and get the advantage over many greyed out areas in the game, they will begin to find higher level dungeons to be overcrowded, and of course they want loot, to sell to buy the items that the Server Premier adventurers are getting from the higher dungeons that they themselves for one reason or another cannot obtain. So these people will go back - and ARE going back to repeat farm and abuse loot dropping from mobs far below them in challenge.
The knock-on effect of this is that people new to the game will find that they cannot make any coin themselves, and cannot gear up sufficiently by hunting Intended level mobs, and then swapping/selling the equipment to their contemporaries - and that the only way they can get items will be by buying them off of the "grey-farmers" or as some call them , the "Bottom Feeders"
The Extended Problem.
The Extended Problem is that these new to game players, unable to get much gold/items in the way that was ( hopefully) intended will in turn have to find ways to get gold to buy the items to make the game enjoyable and fun for them. So, after struggling around for a few days watching higher levels ganking the mobs they should be killing themselves, if they truly enjoy playing the game they may well turn to those friendly farmers over at that Friedly gold selling site and buy some gold for themselves. Which will most likely get them banned. And that friends, is the result that we really do not need for the game at this stage - New players joining the community, realising that all mobs are getting farmed by higher level, and in the end leaving/getting banned and telling all of their friends not to play VGSoH because of the reasons listed above.
Conclusion.
So the appeal is simple really - sort out this silly situation please. Put the risk back into risk vs. Reward - OR conversely - remove the reward.
Yup that's what I, and a huge portion of the player base is asking for - make a level range for loot drops. Stop completely any items bar trash loot, and any quest items dropping from grey con mobs.
Do this soon before people start to leave over it, and before there are a much larger number of higher levels running around spoiling the game for the rest of the community.
Please, and Thank you.

So you ask for TLC? If I recall correctly, then there is TLC in Vanguard. If not, it's bugged .

In short I 100% agree the risk vs rewards is backwards in this game. Totally backwards. Big risk = low exp, lots of death, and nothing to show for it. On the other hand you can go to southwatch or other similar area with zero risk and get omg huge exp solo in 20 minutes. Its so backwards AND you do 10 silly missives and get a wicked yellow sword thats 10x better than anything you died for in the very hard duengon. etc etc. So backwards. Its just silly.

Umm.. yeah..
I thought VG had a Trivial Loot Code... are you saying that there isn't one? Or it's not working as intended?
'cause, as far as I know.. it's working.
But you're right about the general Risk vs. Reward thing.. it is very messed up in this game right now, and it's one of my biggest pet peeves because it effects alot more than just loot and economy. It effects the entire game as a whole throughout every level range.

You can run around killing mobs 10+ levels lower than you and get heroic loot drops.

Loot in this game sucks. Been in KE a total of 15-20 hours and have not spotted 1 named. All the loot is total crap with minimal coin drops. Yay?

I hate how named mobs for the CIS events don't drop anything other than their quest drops. I think these events need to have additional bonuses thrown in, or the chance to drop some real loot. I mean after spending 10 minutes to kill kronus, all we got was the inferno gem... give some more items on these things to make it worth while for me to go back and help others(other than guildies, who I would help anyhow)

if they did, people would farm those too and no one wou ld be able to finish the quests.
tlc needs to be looked at. been seeing people farming named mobs that are far below them, since beta.

What's the risk of doing work order??
None.
And the rewards are even better than most adventurers' soloing.

I don't begrudge solo players who can obtain stuff as nice as what I get through adventuring in groups. I don't begrudge crafters who can make armor as nice as stuff that drops off boss mobs. It seems selfish to expect only one single path to yield all the best stuff.
I just spent the last few days working my butt off for a orange-quality dungeon weapon, while I've seen links of crafted weapons of comparable quality. My opinion? Hey, I have options! I'm not forced to go to some single place, I'm not steered into a particular style of gameplay, and I can do what I like without putting myself at a huge disadvantage to the 'best' method. If only it could always be that way!
I hope the variety of means of attaining power/items continues, and that there's never any end-all single 'best' way of getting good stuff.
-------------------------------------------
On the somewhat related note of TLC, the fact that a level 50 player can camp out a level 35 grey dungeon with minimal risk is countered by the fact that loot from said dungeon will be worthless to the high-level player except as AH fodder. Hence it's little risk for little reward.

Not if you made it a requirement to have the quest to be able to trigger some of these events. It would just make it easier for people to find a group willing to make the kill of those pita quest mobs. At least one person would need the quest to trigger the event.

Don't forget:
The system Sigil has in place works like this :
If you are level appropariate characters and are in a dungeon, and a level 50 or whatever comes in and starts killing mobs that are grey to him but give you exp....if he, say, hits a named mob that you were working towards, all you have do is ONE hitpoint of damage to said mob and the game mechanics will reward YOU, the players who are level appropriate, for the credit, the kill, and the loot. The level 50 (or whatever) will get no reward, period.
The game mechanics are in place so that players can accomplish the level appropriate content without having to worry about some level 50 coming in and stealing their content because he's already trivialized it.
So don't stress....just remember, do ONE hitpoint of damage at the least and it will be yours.
